The Lynch - Riewoldt combo will work fine if they can stay on the park. One thing different this year to last is the amount of times backmen are not marking the ball in our forward line. Apart from Gawn who sat in the hole (which made it impossible for Melb. to exit defence), very few backs have pack marked in our forward half due to Jack and Lynch both competing for the ball. Our small forwards are loving it.

What to do without Jack? Caddy has been very good when he goes on ball. He never fumbles and always makes good decisions, so you don't want to plonk him deep where he plays well, as he is playing quite well when on ball. Besides Lynch is deep. Martin resting forward a bit the same.

We need to find another CHF. Moore is a chance but really I doubt he is good enough. After 4 years an AFL forward would be kicking bags. Chol is a tease but very inconsistent. CCJ will be a good forward ruck, but can he play CHF. We will lose a lot at ground level as well. I'd love to see them back Miller in. Was very good at CHF for a bit last week in the VFL. Adding another teenager would be bold and it has not done us any harm so far this season. He and Balta can both play at either end and ruck, so you would not be losing much.

The only other thing that might be interesting is to tell Bolton he is playing tall and go for his grabs. That might be worth the entrance fee to see.
Agreed. People quickly forgetting this. And this is what will give us a chance against WC, LolPies, GWS. Our smalls can't go to work if the oppo pick us off in the air.

People also forgetting that Lynch had two marks that weren't actually paid on the night.

I think it might be time for my boy Towner to come back into the side...

And I think JR and Lynch are learning not to spoil each other. Instead, they're keeping a bit apart and splitting the pack, so one or other of them isn't double-teamed.

Actually works the other way. You rarely see bags in the VFL. Delivery is not as good as most are well below AFL standard.

Bit different if you are a mid and you can get your own ball but being a forward and relying on others in the VFL to get the ball to you can be a very frustrating experience

Was about to post this, if he was paid those marks and kicked those goals would we be saying its not working?
Obviously it can get better will just take time.

Of course Towner would do a job, but I would like them to be searching for our next CHF not going back to what we know. Also Townsend hasn't done much this year as a forward, mainly played mid. Moore, Chol are Miller are big and pretty mobile.

It's true in a way, but imagine how many goals Jack Riewoldt would kick in the VFL. Most good forwards don't stay long in the VFL and are usually there when coming back from injury, so you don't expect them to dominate. Moore should be marking more, although I still think he has some traits to be useful at AFL level.

Havent been on last few weeks with freakin computer troubles and busy schedule. Still havent seen Sydney game.

Reckon they have done extremely well the last three weeks far better than i expected with the injuries we have had.

On the two KP fwds playing how can anyone not like it. You can just see the damage the two are going to cause.
If JR is out for weeks on end i think it important we play with two tall fwds Lynch and a combination of Moore Chol/ccj if Moore doesnt work out one of the others. Its a real opportunity to play with the structure we want long term and its a real opportunity to have a good look at what blokes like Moore Chol etc can offer and how far they have developed at the level.
I agree with others when it comes to tearing games apart in the vfl its hard to do unless your a mid.The ressies are winning and doing an awful lot right and its been shown when we give the younger blokes a decent go they are doing their job for us.

Would still like the club to bring an another tall to replace jack for the doggies game perhaps Moore...

Lolton exploited doggies lack of tall defenders and I rkn we should do the same
I’m thinking the other way. Shai Bolton, nows your time to shine.
SEN just breaking it (Jacks knee). They report its bad news and we have to reshuffle the forward line. Like **** me, have they been paying attention this season? It’s not rocket science what we are gonna do. Balta stays in (which i think is a good thing) and we bring another quick forward in.
It doesn’t stop the tiger machine.

They a bloody useless in reporting
Your right about shai was pretty stiff to get dropped and he was showing some great signs in the games he played

Bloody love our club for a club that has apparently no depth even with the outs we currently have we have guys who are stiff to not get a run

Bolton, CCJ, Moore, Garthwaite, Butler and Naish just off the top of my head could walk straight in
