Astbury a pivotal part of the mix as well
Yeah definitely, but Grimes has taken on Rance's role as the last man back organising the troops and done it superbly.

I can't wait to get Rance back though. The defence is going to be stronger for having to learn to work without him.

Toast: Tim Lunch [1]
Roast: Edwards, Short and Baker @ half-back [2]

[1] Sewing the number 19 onto my guernsey as we speak...
[2] I don't think any of Edwards, Short or Baker are natural defenders. I'm not sure we can play all 3 in the backline at once?

Soldo can hold his head high, but Nank is a walk-up start.
Caddy and McIntosh should be considered.

If that's our game plan going forward I hope we tidy those handballs up. The dash and daring was back which was great.

I feel for Baker, that's not his position. Lynch turning into the power forward we've never really had, he was a brute today! Working well with Jack too. Grimes is our most important player behind the ball still and Houli still easily has another season or two in the tank if he keeps this form up.

I think Soldo has come a long way with an extended stint but I'd prefer Chol + Nank. Nank gives us more and Chol has so much X factor everywhere else as well as we don't lose any run with him. Will go a long way to stopping gun rucks and two ruck setups killing us when Nank is off. I swore Chol would never make it, but he's easily AFL standard now.

Hopefully Short bounces back. Everyone has a stinker and I'm sure he'll go over it during the week.
