This is probably a good picture to share. Shows why the picture can't be taken as gospel but certainly highlights the problems of our current system
the goal line cameras need to be on the point posts.....
with a digital line configured to be the accepted goal line
no parallax error then

Think we should seriously look at Townsend in the midfield given that for one reason or another Miles is out of favour. Cotch and Dusty are good but continually doing the inside grunt work will be difficult to maintain for an entire season. Prestia evens the load but not until after the bye apparently and Caddy is showing his worth inside 50 so for the next three weeks its an opportunity to provide Townsend with a role of crash and bash to open things up in the middle.

The other advantage with Townsend is he can then go inside 50 and help Jack whereas Miles doesnt provide that dual role benefit.

I believe also that Graham has to be given license to get his own ball as i think we have seen that he can be a ball accumulator and has a good football brain so doesnt waste alot of possessions.

At the moment he plays a very negative stopping role but sometimes the best method of defense is attack. I beleive he can become the sort of player who gets tagged rather than the other way around. Am sure even Townsend again could be tried in a tagging role to free up Graham.
He is not even close to up to it.
Tried before. He's lucky to crack double digits, and we've already got Graham doing that.

If they have assessed he was out before he hit the ground it’s clearly high impact lol
Exactly. No one to my knowledge ever suggested that Carlisle acted with any malice or intention to hurt Jack. However, no wriggling with semantics allows you to avoid the conclusion that contact had to be high impact given Jack was KOd before he hit the ground.

Imo he knew exactly what he was doing and it was the 'earn the mark' scenario.

Or just can the whole lot and go with what the umpire says like we did for a hundred years??
What about a bloke on a really high chair and then a long beam that sticks out parallel to the goal line with a mirror and a camera with another mirror angled perfectly to capture it and feed it into a VR headset for the guy on the chair?

Second goal umpire sits on a high chair overlooking the goal/point posts...just like they do at the tennis...works for Tennis should work for footy...
Double fault! No goal!!

I think we need the three way mirror to ensure that the viewing angle is neutral

Maybe we could just trust the goal umpire though
It’s funny how many incorrect calls have ever been a “huge issue” when there was no reviews... now we have tenfold the number lol

If you’re gonna video review any decisions the field umpires are the ones that screw up the most! If we can trust them we can trust the goal umpires.

Yep just review every goal behind the scenes, if it can be DEFINITIVELY agreed that a call is wrong before the ball is bounced, bring it back but otherwise play on.

No stopping the play and going to a review.

Otherwise give each team 1 incorrect challenge a half or something
The goal umpire makes the call, unless they aren't able to do it anymore in case they think they'll f**k it up, and the ball goes back to the middle. During the commercial break they can check if it's a blatant mistake. If not, even if there's a slight doubt, just play on.

Roast

Could complain about half the team or more. Seems its a roundabout same group of players below standard at varying times and they save their arses with a decent game here or there.
well its time to have a bitch about the favorite son. Cmon Dusty all yr the defensive part of your game has been poor.
Just one tackle again this week.Hit the bastards son and hit em hard.Have em looking over the shoulder and wondering where the hell you are.

On Tackling fmd have we reveted back to bruise free footy because thats the way it seems the last few weeks.

Toast
Cal Moore thought he did more than enough to get stay in the team.

Goal review technology needs to get to the reliability of hawk eye in tennis.
Until then, as Dimma has said, if it’s not obvious, let the goal umpire make the call and review it on the way back to the centre bounce.
