Melbourne will be right up there in 2004.

Last season there were many players down on form.Some of these players are meant to be the better players on our list.

Yze,Johnstone,White,Brice,Heffernan,Nicholson,Whelan,Ward and Vardy all underachieved by their and their own,the clubs and the supporters standards.With those players regaining form the Dees will improve greatly.

The development of the younger players such as Jolly,Miller,Armstong,Thompson,Jamar,Bell,Ferguson,Smith,Carroll,Rivers,Hunter,Fisher and Carson will benefit our side in terms of depth and excitement.

The additions of Holland,Sylvia,McLean and Johnson will add some freshness and enthusiasm around the club.These four additions will prove good pickups.

IMO, it is hard to predict where we will finish but i reckon it will be somewhere from 3rd-9th.

Disagree on Heffernan. He of all Essendon's trades from last year, can say they had a reasonable season (even allowing for Caracella's 2nd premiership, he was a disaster up there). Heffernan was BOG against Geelong in Round 3 and seemed pretty consistant. Certainly a lot better than most at Melbourne, aside from Bizzell.

Heffernan was solid but no where near the standard what was required for giving away pick10.It will be interesting to see how he fares in 04.
