Biggest non-story I have read in years. And why is Fowler in trouble, not the other 7 City players who were out the same night?

Imagine the headline "Footballers drink beer three days before game".

As far as I'm concerned, he can have a night out every Wednesday if he plays as well as he did against Soton the following Saturday.

I think its the fact that he had lit up a "hand rolled cigrarette" which is gonna be his problem.

And i agree, he can do whatever he wants along as he continues to play like he did on saturday, hell it worked for Gasgoine for that many years.

Not against the law to smoke a "roll your own" as far as I know. Unless you are suggesting there was something other than tobacco in it, I don't think it is worth anyone getting bothered too much about it.

Either way, there was no smoke coming out of the cigarette in the NotW photo, and it looked like he was smiking the thing, the butt of the cigarette looked like it was as close to his nose as is was to his mouth. Far be it for me to suggest the NotW is an untrustworthy source, but I've got a $800 digital camera that wouldn't take photos in a dark smoky night club as good as the mobile phone they claim took these photo's.

If he broke team rules I am sure he will get fined, but from the NotW evidence alone, I can' t really see what all the fuss was about.

Latest news according to the radio is that neither Fowler, or the other players at the nightclub will be punished in any way.

Keegan is quoted on the official sit as follows:

"The players had my permission to go out on the evening in question and therefore did not break any club rules."

"They asked if they could go out and I said, "yes". Nothing more needs to be said on the matter."
Robbie may have a bit more trouble explaining the blonde to his missus, but that smacks of a media setup to me as well.

Now where is that teacup.

Hasn't been great but I think his lack form (this year at least) has been overexaggerated.

HE has had 5 league starts this season, was excellent against Charlton (close to MOM), got injured in the first 5 minutes against pompey, was OK against Bolton, good against Chelsea and superb against Soton.

Keegans problem would have been that he was playing well at training and in games, but wasn't getting ont he scoresheet. Hopefully last Saturday was the match that turned things around for him.

But to say he hasn't played a good game in ages is just plain wrong.

Fair enough - I only see the highlights and tend to judge strikers by the number of goals, but he may be contributing a lot without hitting the net himself.

Fair nuff. We haven't seen the Robbie of old yet, but he is getting closer IMO.
