Best on ground for Westies on the weekend, huge potentual, good player, He is in our Best 22, but does he play this weekend? He could play two roles in our side, Onballer or small forward, If I was picking the side, he is in, Choco... Who knows, I would have played Thomson every match this year he was/is fit for!

Re: Robbie Grey

I reckon give him another week. He's always been injury prone, so we shouldn't rush him back. Plus, nobody really played badly enough to deserve to be dropped on the weekend.

Your post has been reported. I reckon these kids should get infraction points for spelling OUR OWN PLAYERS' names wrong. :D

Re: Robbie Grey

Yeah let's make him really earn his spot, he's only young so he's got plenty of time, I'd like to see us get our get our team settled first. With guys like Thomas, Logan and Thomson recently gaining value for their toughness the complexion of our team will be changing and so I wouldn't mind if we reached some sort of "equilibrium" first before we started adding more youngsters, especially with our tendency to switch off/fade out which I think is largely due to youth. (Sorry if this is vague, basically hardness will be emphasised as opposed to flair like in recent times)

Having said that he'll be an out-and-out gun so I'd love to see him in the team! BUT, let's wait a few rounds.

Best on ground for Westies on the weekend, .........

Can you tell me where you got this information from? I find it hard to find any reports on SANFL games each week. Is there any particular site that is best for SANFL game reports. There is usually nothing on the individual club websites.

Re: Robbie Grey

IMO Gray was a week or two behind Krakouer fitness wise, meaning Krakouer got the go and Gray will be stuck playing for Westies until he has a form slump.

Re: Robbie Grey

i'm excited to see gray play again for port, but yeah i don't think anyone was poor enough to be dropped from the weekend, especially those who were ins (huge confidence killer to get dropped after first promotion from sanfl, and none of them deserve it imo)

i see a bit of o'keefe in robbie gray

Umm... Well actually my source was the Advertiser... But he couldn't have been to bad a heap of posessions and someone waisted Ink printing his name, false sense of acomplishment, who cares!

Only, isn't O'Keefe is 6'2' and Robbie Gray 5'11'??

AdelaideNow has SANFL match reports of a sort. They don't tend to give actual scores, goal kickers or best players though.

The same reports, or edited versions there of, also appear on the SANFL website.

o'keefe is 187 cm, gray is 184 cm

i meant in terms of the way they play and their strongest attributes though

Gray looks like the second coming of Gary Ablett Junior.

Tremendous awareness and skills in close and lethal as a goalsneak - whether he can build up his tank and use these assets in the guts one day is open to question, however.

As dyretribe mentioned, I think he Resembles Garry Ablett Junior more than Ryan O"Keefe, but he has super strong hands, O'Keefe has a larger motor and dosen't kick as many goals IMO

From what I've seen of Gray, he seems like he has a bit of Gary Ablett Jr about him...which is a Huge wrap, but one which should excite all Port supporters.
Gary Ablett Jr always had great skill & potential, but it wasn't until his team mates talked to him & convinced him to work on his fitness so he could go into the midfield & dominate that his game leapt up to that next level. I really hope Port's leadership group has the same type of conversation with Robbie Gray perhaps for the remainder of this season & into next year's pre-season. It worked a treat for Geelong...Gary must surely win a Brownlow someday soon.

This kid looks like he could be a star, what's his contract situation?

given he's an oakleigh chargers boy is there any chance of him coming back to melbourne?

why is he not being played on a consistant basis?
