Yeah, and he didn't even go after the grammar either.

Back to the thread, Gray runs amok and we look forward to many years of excellence. A fan fave already.

I was talking to a friend in Melbourne who played with Gray at the East Burwood Rams & still keeps in close contact with him. His words to me were "you've got a keeper there". I asked "what do you mean?" & he said "Robbie loves it at Port. He won't go anywhere".

Nice to hear, i think.

I think Robbie Gray is going to be a great player for the power.
He is quick with good hands and loves a goal.
seems very mature and settled for a young fella.
would love to have him at the hawks!! :thumbsu:

Now, before I post this, I just want to clarify that I absolutely LOVE the youth development that has occurred at our club this year.

So many youngsters emerging, it has been fantastic to see the 21 and unders flourish, and of course the team being in 3rd spot from 12th at the end of 06.

Having said that, I'd like to ask my fellow port supporters a question about Gray.

What is it about Gray that makes everyone think he is a gun, and someone that holds a spot in our first 22 when fully fit?

I am by no means having a go at this guy, it's just that I fail to see what everyone is so hyped about. I am glad though that many people are very excited about him though, and not just supporters of our club, but others as well, because this means that you are seeing something that I am missing. The point of this thread, is I'd like you to point our his strengths and what you think he can/will improve on, so that I can watch him more closely in his next match, as I have clearly not watched him closely enough.

Again, I mean no negativity about him, I just want my eyes opened when it comes to robbie, so I can appreciate him more.

Cheers

Well I just think he is a super talent, and just freakish natural ability. Really good with his footskills and is deadly around the goals. Probably needs to develop his fitness so he can be thrown into midfield rotations...

I really rate this boy

The club seems to think he'll be a top midfielder in the near future. Also Josh Francou is big on him.

I see, yet again, freakish ability that his rookie brethren in Boak, Krak and the Hoff all have.

He has amazing hands for such a small guy and knows where the big stick are and a great awareness. He's already kicked a few crackign goals and seems to be able to take two guys on sometimes, especially when mobile. He and the others have so much potential that I cannot remember when I was this excited about our young guys coming through. It really should be an era and we've had a few.

Did you see Tredders' 200th? The kid is a freak. The good kind I mean, not the kind that will take out half a uni if your daughter breaks up with him, or indeed LOLs at his dress sense and length of fringe.

He also is a different style of player to the other forwards we have, so when he is up and running he provides terrific variety to our goalkicking mix and looks like he will be very hard to match up on.
Also like the fact that against Hawthorn and Carlton he stood up and played good footy when teammates were doing buggerall, and against the Bombers he got us going as much as anyone else.

I still wouldn't have him come back straight into the AFL side though. He needs two solid games for Westies to get his mojo back. If he does that, he will be a real asset in the finals.

Unbelievable hands in capturing and disposing, great awareness as to where his teammates AND opposition are.

If he plays a couple of games with the Bloods we may just get off the bottom.

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can tell me what's happening with Robbie Gray as I could not find his name in the West Adelaide game results and I can't find him on the injury list either. Where's he gone??
