more of your outside flanker - doesn't like the contested stuff - houli replacement but without the good disposal or decision making skills.

So more of a slippery eel type
umm - anyone whos watched a lot Kangaroos games - haven't we all - would know that Tarrant is a flanker!

Geeez - I'm kidding! Lets go with Gorilla

It’s a better option than Talia but if we struggle next season, it’s not ideal having him.

Still not confident we will bounce back next year if we don’t change our game plan and in improve in the midfield and ball movement side of things. We’ve always had a great backline, but they can’t do much if we get smashed elsewhere

I understand where your coming from but I’m quietly confident there’s a good chance we will. With the club bringing in Teague, a coach well known to be a forwards/ball movement specialist, they have noticed our weakness and went out and got one of the best in the business to remedy it.

Will it be enough I don’t know but if we can keep the injuries to a minimum I’d give us a good chance.

Yeah don’t get me wrong. I’m not pessimistic about our chances, I’m just not as confident as some others. Fingers crossed we do bounce back

If true, hopefully Taz can change his game to be a lock down kpp.

Would help allow balta more freedom.

Fwiw I was saying balta forward before it was fashionable

I can't believe it's not..... Butter?
ol' fabio. I still recite that ad 2 the kids to annoy them. They have NFI obs.
I am just hoping Tarrant is not overawed by the Tiger crowd in his 1st game

Dont believe he would have ever played in front of a crowd more than 20,000
The 2015 elim against us would have been his biggest ever crowd I reckon. Wasn't overawed with winning either IIRC.

3 flags and a norm smith is a pretty good return.

From the bit of norf I've watched the last decade Tarrant looks pretty decent. If we can get half the return lake got you'd be pretty happy.

Also a nice synergy with the Rance comparisons over the years. Tarrant might be cooked but it looks a good risk imo. Top line big defenders seem hard to find
So what you are saying is that we are likely to three-peat in 2022,2023,2024? 😉

Apologies if already discussed, but what would everyone rate Robbie's potential in 2022 i.e. is he an A or B-grader etc? I haven't watched a lot of him, so am wondering what to expect at age 32.
I'm a bit like yourself and haven't watched him much, or taken notice of him much, but from what I've seen he could've been AA if he had have played for a contending team. Very good intercept mark, quality 1 on 1 lockdown defender ( Rance like) and a very good distributor.

I would say A grade, but his age might pull him back a notch, so B+

Thank you 4tune8, I really appreciate your insight. I was thinking the same myself. I imagine that he is like a lesser, older version of Rance.

I am thinking that he'll be very excited to play alongside Grimes, Vlaustin, Balta and co.
I'm thinking that he might have an outstanding 2022 due to the support our defence will provide him - less need to be an organiser/leader, less need to play the lockdown position (can alternate with Balta), more cover support and overall less defensive inside 50 entries (resulting in less fatigue).

Looks damned good in yellow and black, but our jumper would make Susan Boyle look hot.

Didn't realise he was the brother Chris Tarrant.

Always thought he was better than Rance
As a pure “defender” Robbie had him covered imo but Rance had that X factor and ability to play off his man and impact contests and contribute to counter attacks that changed the way key position defenders played the game (Including Tarrant)

all tru and David Dench says 'HELLO' :thumbsupv1::thumbsupv1: to Alex and Robbie

I think people just need to be realistic that 'bouncing back' doesn't mean '3 flags in 4 years', it just means (in my opinion anyway) contending by way of finishing in or around the Top 4.

In a competition as even as the AFL, we should be happy with getting the double chance and letting whatever happens in the finals happen (which we've shown ourselves to be pretty handy at of late).
