Opinion Robbo Top 50

don't know what to say to you if you don't rate his kicking, it's sublime.
I didn't say I don't rate his kicking but your making him out to be a 7 time AA best defender in the league. You said he was on a pedestal by himself. I don't agree

lmao alright mate

I made the point that Hurn is the only defender I can think of with similar capabilities to be a gun intercepter AND a weapon with the ball

that's not putting him on a pedestal that's facts.

Yes, opinions are facts.

Mate.

and Bont over dusty please, gets a tag and goes missing. and Dusty just gets the job done when it counts
Bont was tagged out by De Boer once, resulting in 13 touch game. His next worst game was a 19 touch game against the Saints.

Dusty had games where he had 15, 17, 18 and 19 touches, combining for 1 goal total between those games, so playing forward isn't an excuse. Dusty goes missing far more often than Bont

Topkent in my 5 mins in this thread I’ve learnt that the hawks supporters have the most irrational view of Sicily and Richmond supporters equate a premiership to individual achievement and so all players are instantly better.
I mean that's nice but claiming Sicily doesn't tear games apart with his kicking is just silly, he is in the top few kicks in the comp and i would be surprised if anyone would honestly argue that.

As a Tiges supporter I'm thinking, where's Shane Edwards.. but as an end of year predictor I don't have an issue with the list at all.

Someone like Petracca could easily take a leap this year and his absolute ceiling is one of the guns of the competition, so if you want to lean that way fair enough. Ageing stars like Buddy, Sloane, Riewoldt, Hawkins and Pendlebury for me I think are closer to back end top 50 guys come end of year. As a supporter I can't see the problem with this either, you want your younger midfielders/forwards to really take that step and take over the mantle.

I like throwing Naughton in there, was super in 2019 and is still so young, even if it takes him a couple more years to really become a star of the comp.
Same with McLuggage and Marshall.

Loved the Bont v Cripps back and forth in the Bushfire Appeal game, and have been waiting the last couple of years to see a PROPER Brownlow race and a real push to be the standout star of the competition. Bont, Dusty, Fyfe, Cripps, Danger are just a mega top 5.

He’s a great kick, has good vision there’s no disputing that. But the “tears games apart” is completely over the top.

Ben Brown is a one dimensional lead up marking forward. He’s rightfully rated by Robbo.

Did you see Tom Lynch’s back half of the year when he was at full fitness? Brown could never produce such high quality football.
I know right, Tom Lynch apparently kicked 10 goals against Port Adelaide.

Vs Brown who gets the call kicked to him every time?

I’m not knocking Brown, belongs in the list, ahead of Buddy but not Lynch.
Brown gets the ball kicked to him a lot but tell me how many are quality kicks compared to the golden platter Lynch gets?

Yep. Over a season there’d be 5-10 players you’d take over Martin. He does go missing more than every other elite midfielder, but come finals/big games he is the number one. It depends what you’re after.

I wonder if him coasting at times during the H&A is a strategy to preserve himself for big games. Collingwood prelim the only big game I remember him playing poorly.

Tell us about the Essendon players in the top 50 and if you think Robbo ranked them correctly.
I have no doubt you think you've trolled me elegantly somehow but I don't actually read Robbo so pass.
Never said that...bestest????
Never said you did.

You just made a sweeping generalised assessment of non-Richmond Bigfooty posters, I did the same but about Richmond posters.

If you don't like me doing that, perhaps you should refrain from doing it first?

Mmm it might be a bit over the top but i would strongly argue he is one of the most lethal kicks, especially in his position. He has room to improve as a player and that is why i still have McGovern and those types ahead of him but in terms of kicking i think Hurn is the only one in his position to rival him.

He is so poor he would not get a game at the Blues....Jesus spare us you tripe.

What a weird reply... He has a point, over the course of the home and away season he more often than not in the top few players in the game. Definitely wasn't last season.

Cameron going from 16 to 35 after a career best year really is the most mind boggling part. His justification that Cameron didn't get it done in finals was laughable. Kicked two despite an injury in the semi.

Sorry weren't you just outraged because you didn't say what I posted?

Where does he say Martin wouldn't get a game at Carlton?

Sarcasm friend...he goes missing is a sweeping statement about Martin.
No.

It's a fact, he does go missing in the H&A compared to his finals record.
