And yet he lists Daniher? Like Slobbo, I think you need to take-off your injunction* tinted glasses...
My guy here suffering from a real case of scrambled egg brain.

I'll give Robbo the home town pick. A player like Shuey though, is probably more deserving. There also may be a small chance I am not actually an Essendon supporter.

Zorko
Andrews
Curnow
Lambert
Daniher
Parker

All picked ahead of Shuey? He obviously totally forgot about Shuey.
I see Curnow as a future pick, Zorko at his best is a superstar, Parker as a nod to his overall career and Andrews under the assumption he will be one of the best KP by seasons end, and great KP player > than very good midfielders.

There is a simple Robbo rationale to each pick, however Shuey is probably a better player than all and more deserving of a spot. I don't mind. Consistently underrated and one of the real clutch players of the comp. Let him fly under the radar, we know what happens when he doesn't get payed adequate respect.

Nice to see Yeo getting some plaudits as a midfielder. Not many players are elite running both ways through the midfield, similar to Coniglio.

Not prior to his injury, he was the clear number 1 in my opinion. When picking number 1 it is always going to be up for debate but that is far from a howler.
One of the biggest issues is when Fyfe has played his best football, he has had genuine physical players with him at the contest. Neale and Barlow won’t be with him next year. Mundy and Sandilands are a year older and it is difficult seeing them perform at the level of their ‘peak’ years. The other, lesser old bodies who rotated through the midfield are gone.

Essentially, the Fremantle midfield is Fyfe. He has given no indication that he can carry that load alone with a young, underdeveloped support crew.

Enough questions to make him as the number one pick contentious.

I’d have Jetta in or around the 50 also. Best shutdown defender in the competition but doesn’t get many possessions so that’s the reason he wouldn’t get picked. Laird does get a job on a forward but doesn’t lockdown like Jetta.
Would have Grimes far ahead of Jetta for a lock down defender. Jetta is a solid player but not in Grimy's class

It’s pretty good, he’s made some interesting calls though.

Greene and Davis that high. Not sure Greene’s body can be relied upon currently to deliver across the entire season, Davis is a hell of a stopper but not a dynamic enough player to be top 25.

Lloyd over the likes of Heeney is perplexing as well, great user, very tidy and creative but Heeney looks ready to take the competition by storm.

Also based on the preseason I don’t think Daniher looks close to moving at the level he was at in his AA year.

Also Kennedy (WCE) ahead of Riewoldt is a contentious (cue Eagles fans). Continuity/Coleman has to count for something surely (not having a go at Kennedy, he's a gun. Just think Riewoldt is better right now). Plus talking about key forwards, you know Slobbo was loving sneaking Daniher in at 50

I’d agree with that, Riewoldt is the key forward most suited for football today. Lots of tricks, set shot accuracy, can play multiple roles, outstanding defensively with his relentless contesting. I’d have him above Franklin who obviously still brilliant but I think benefits from a small ground and tactical favourtism from Longmire due to a lack of other forward options.

I don’t think it is that contentious. JK at 7 is probably slightly too high, and I would have Yeo and McGovern ahead of him from our side. Riewoldt was better in 2018 but JK was either injured or coming back from injury.

I think as of this year JK will not be recognised as a top 10 player again. He will have a couple more good years but he is banged up and we have younger options that will push for spots and lower the reliance on him.

Fyfe at no 1 ? Gee Whiz, on what basis ? Shocking call.
Based on the fact that he was the best player in the comp last year until he did his hammy.

I hate giving a purple too much credit but Fyfe at his absolute best is better than anyone else at their best.

He’s a freak. Can’t kick very well but has some of the best goals of the last decade on his resume.

At full fitness he’s still the best, hopefully his body comes good.

But that's the point, he hasn't been at full fitness, similar to Buddy and Kennedy. This list for sure refers to a players potential, not on what they are actually outputting week in, week out (hence why Daniher is there).

Fair call. Though I think he looks set to have a good run at it, I know he picked up an elbow injury in the AFLX but he was moving a lot better than he has for two years in that game.

As a wce supporter surprised to see Hurn up there. I always thought of Hurn as solid but never really stand out. Like hes on the tier of Jetta, Shep level.

I always underrate him but others overrated him.
I used to have the same problem with Heater a few years ago. Hurn is so consistent it's easy to take him for granted.
