Is Robert Harvey in All Australian form in 2007??

If he was named ALL AUS, would that justify to himself he is capable of playing on in 2008? Or is it more of a mental/motivation hurdle?

Is averaging:
23 disposals, 7 Marks, 2 tackles per game and a goal every 2 games.

Is still ridiculously fit, is still playing very good football and would most probably be leading stkilda's best and fairest and browlow votes for the season thus far.

Played all 23 games in 2006 including the 1st final and is one of only 9 saints to have played all 8 games this season.

Thoughts??

To say Harvey is a champion is an understatement. He certainly deserves to be in the AA team this year so far and could win the Brownlow!!! It looks unlikely that he will win a premiership which is really sad because I can't think of anyone more deserving

I thought to win AA you just needed to be inside the pool of the best players in the competition, and not just quick.
I agree totally. But I do not think the selectors will select him due to speed. His best chance is a forward flank or pocket for AA.

Still, over a career, I can think of no better player to have than this man, and he is in desrving form at present.

The AA team is purely theoretical. It never takes the field. Therefore who cares how slow he is. If he's considered among the best 22 players this season put him in the AA team.

On current form he should get in. And win B&F. And finish top 5 in the brownlow. CHAMPION. It's a long season, however, and we can only hope the dreaded Linen House Curse avoids the great man.

If he stays at this level, he might be given a swansong in the AA. I still don't see them picking him though. Can't wait for his 350th in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know what game it is meant to be barring any injuries? (touch wood, highly likely with the way our injuries are going though?

yeah he puts a lot into his fitness and really deserves to be where he is.. i work about 10km from where he lives, one a week i see him running early in the mourning to my work even if he has just played a match the night before.. thats at 6:30am.. i wouldnt think many players would do that.. normally the mourning after would be a relaxing one, i would imagine anyway but yeah he really puts the effort in and is a great of the game.... hope he keeps going for 2008 and onwards..

He'll be out for 4 weeks, then take another couple of weeks to get back to his best. So that leaves another 7 games for him to stake his claim - not likely he'll be AA in his final year, which is a shame.
