He's 33, did an ACL a few years ago and came back better than ever. Not sure at the age he's at now.

Hopefully he can come back. Just give us that, Christ.

As mentioned, terrible luck to Bob Murphy. Not since Robert Harvey have we seen a player so universally liked by opposition supporters and the dogs will certainly miss him in the early stages.

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst - looked bad on TV & his face just about told you everything you need to know. He looked absolutely shattered.

LARS would have to be an option - would love to see him back out there towards the end of this season. This has Judd of last year written all over it - hopefully there is a much happier ending for Bob.

Hard to explain the feeling - this is a bloke that would die for the jumper, has seen the highs and the many lows. A couple of years ago he would have thought he would never get to be a part of a team that could have a crack at a flag. To win one now (not saying we could), would be so bittersweet. It would kill me to see him not be a part of that.
 
I know some of you guys are suggesting lars but he's 33 and should be focussing on stuff past footy very soon. There's more to life than footy and a normal reconstruction will be better off for him and his family in the long run. Shit way to go if that is it, absolute champ. We'll see how he goes though. If it is game over, then an astonishing 295 games. #wellplayedbob

I reckon Bob Murphy is my favourite non-Essendon player. A great player and a true gentleman off the field. All the best Bob.

Other way around IMO, I thought he could see the cruel irony of the whole thing. If this is it, he'll have a long few months to beat himself up, but will be one of those players that will go down as a hero for not winning a flag. He's a thinking man, I'm sure he'll be alright.

He is one of the most insightful players around. I small part of me is eagerly waiting for his retirement because he would surely get a Channel 7 contract for game day special comments or a gig on a major radio station.

I just hoped it would not be like this.
 
really hope it isnt a ACL but bevo said it looks like it is
and damn so close to 300 games i hope he can come back from this one but i have doubts
