Favourite non-Hawk player. Mixed feelings in that moment. Didn't even have the heart to celebrate the Sicily goal. Hopefully if it is as an ACL the LARS surgery can have him back for a run at finals which I'm convinced the Dogs will be playing deep into after today.
He has been an exceptional player with grace, vision, intelligence and skill most footballers would kill for, then when he became captain last year he actually pretty much lifted a level at 32 running a bunch of pups around, will go down as a club legend and one of my favourite ever players for the doggieswhen you hit 30 you're 1 big injury away from the end.
Most ACLs are done in the first few rounds of footy. Bulldogs get one every year so was waiting for it. Was surprised we had no major injuries in rounds 1 & 2
Not Bob though. **** this shit, am on holiday in Bali, Afl app a joke, miss half the game and now this shit
At least the Bintang is $3 a bottle
murph is the only Bulldogs player I've ever spoken to. after the disastrous Rohde era, Rocket Eade came in and smartened the place up. I met Murph outside the social club and shook his hand and said "thanks for the entertainment you're putting smiles on a lot of peoples faces'
He thanked me and looked genuinely pleased.
I've seen him play forward and back and out of position and do everything good coaches and shit coaches have asked of him, pretty much the same Bob from 18 to 33. Maybe he's lost a little pace but found an extra half-second when he has the ball in hand, using that time to set up a play no-one else could see.
Maybe the fact his knee is so damaged might mean he can't go LARS? Maybe?
No brain, no pain? When Luke Darcy did his knee he ran off the ground.
No brain, no pain?
I'm as passionate a Hawks supporter as they come (sometimes go a tad to far..lol)
But when Bob went down in that last scenario I was more worried for his welfare than Sicily having the shot to put us in front!
If all goes ok this season & we salute for the 4 in a row(fingers crossed).
I'd love nothing more than Bob coming back & leading the Dogies to their first flag since 1954.
That would be an awesome fairy tale.
Good luck on your recovery Bob Murphy & I'm sure your boys will do you proud for the rest of the season.
