Great appointments...both Harvey & Shaw...hats off. IMO we've certainly got our off field department in order, now it's up to the players to take notice of what these guys say & pulls their heads in.

Yep that about sums it up, the new number 6 is in for some sore ears.

The personell we now have within our coaching ranks makes me beleive that if Freo have not got 4 wins by round 7 Connolly will be axed. The board will be hell bent on making the finals next season . Why I say rnd 7 is bacuse we can still make the finals from that position. I beleive there will also be a few more marks on the fixture list where CC will be feeling the heat.

If Freo aint 4 from 7 - boot him
6 from 11 - boot him
and 8 from 14 - boot him

CC IMHO will know by rnd 5 whether the players are behind him

If the club is hell bent on making the finals in 2006, then I can't see how sacking the coach is going to get them there. When was the last time a club changed coaches mid season and still made the finals?

Maybe you should talk to an Adelaide supporter before you get too carried away about the benefits of recruiting Robert Shaw.

He was the head coach at your club. He infact did a great job at Essendon as an assistant. His job is as a GM to help how we train and develop our players. He wont be fully directly responsible with coaching the players directly

We'll see. One of his biggest problems at Adelaide was player development, management & communication.

Hence that side of things will probably be left to CC, Harvey and Icke (and the other assistants). Shaw will concentrate on the coaches.

"As General Manager – Football Operations, Robert’s role will focus on ensuring all aspects of the club’s football programmes operate at an optimal level and will work closely with the club’s coaching team providing professional and personal mentoring."
