I actually think he is right this time

West Coast still have the bones of a pretty good team they lost there midfield last year but traded well for Judd to further boost there draft selections, they have only one player over 28 and still have on there list about 30 players from there premiership year which was only 2 seasons ago. They will be back very soon

In comparison Essendon has 5 players over 30 a couple in there late 20's who arent getting games anymore and a bunch of 24 to 27 year olds that are fairly unimpressive.

Of your Kids Ryder is a very good player gumbleton is years away from being damaging to oppositions because of injury setbacks. When i look at it I cant see anything much to like.

Now before you smack down on Richmond I have watched years of poor list management and it has taken Wallace 4 years so far to fix our list to a point were I am confident going forward we will be a very good team. On a side note in that 4 years we have consistently beaten the bombers : )

What gives you the clairvoyance to say that Gumbleton is years away? He could be just one pre-season away; or two; or three. You've named two of our key position prospects. What about Houli who looks a player, Reimers who also looks the likely type. We have plenty of kids who have shown some glimpses of talent, yet they are still to establish themselves.

Essendon's fortunes depends greatly on the development of our current crop of youngsters.

Don't get too Cockahoot matey! Your best player is 33 or so. Without Richos stellar year you would be right back at the bottom. You still have a shocking list, you have just been over performing so far. As soon as Richo is gone, you have less prospects than us. Deledio granted is a star.

Gumbleton has played 5 games in 2 seasons and probably wont be back this year he is still very young though, Houli isn't getting a game at the moment. I didnt say that the kids you have were bad its just that it takes years to develop them

Hang on mate, Gumbleton can play just cant get on the park there is no doubting that but has a long way to go. As for Houli have you seen us play at all? He has played in most games this year. At the moment his injured. Do you understand? The kid is a gun.

Our list is in a very good position and though it is not fully developed we have a lot of kids with lots of games to take us forward I suggest you take a look sometime http://www.footywire.com/

This is the 2nd week he's missed because of a groin injury.

I 2nd these sentiments. Houli has showed poise and class in all his games. He's able to win his own contested ball and provide polished delivery out of the back half or midfield.

I haven't seen gumbleton play but injuries are slowing down his development and your teams,

and we all have young guns in our side take a look at Cotchin sometime now that boy is going to be a star of the game.

I never said you dont have good kids at your club so i dont know why your directing this at me. As for Gumbletons developement i can say that he doesnt need much. What ive seen from him he knows what to do. I like Polo more than anyone else and hope he gets a game soon.

I refuse to take notice of anything Robert Walls has to say. His stupidity and "self-perceived" knowledge of the game astounds me. One of many irrelevant people in the football media.

How do you know? He's had time to be in the weights room hasn't he! He may be more developed than others his age, he's a natural footballer so I don't think it would be too many games before he hit his straps!

Judging by his earlier comments, i dont think he knows much about our list at all. But anyway i share your comments with Gumby, he just needs to get out there and he will don't worry.

Every club has a reporter that always seems to snub their club. Essendon have Walls, Carlton have Patrick Smith and everyone else has Jeff Kennett. It is always the way its going to be. you just gotta learn that this is why they get paid so let them be pathetic and we can move on.

If for no other reason, it was the best feeling knowing that Walls was wrong yet again. Now, what is he going to say about Essendon's youngsters now... he'll put a spin on today's game how ordinary our list is and that Carlton's, WCE's and Melbourne's lists will all develop quicker than Essendon's will!

Shoved it right up ya Wallsy!!!

It's obvious what he will do. He'll announce that we only won because of late goals to Lucas and Lloyd, ageing stars, and a couple of lucky goals (Laycock).
He'll then announce that we were very lucky that it rained because it meant our totally unskilled players were on the same level as Carlton's skilled superstars.
Then he'll add that we had a two day longer break so we had more time to prepare. Also, we had an 'easy' game against West Coast last week while Carlton had a tough game against the 'mighty' Collingwood.
Then, he'll throw in a few umpiring decisions that went our way and will gladly inform everyone that this is a 1 in a hundred occurence.
