Roberton and Billings

Any ITK have any word on these two superstars signatures? Last update on DR was from our mate Purple on MMM

These two represent great value on the open market and if we're chasing mature talent then Ameet may CONSIDER what a deal might look like that could involve one of them. Obviously don't want them to go.. I remember on trade radio Richo saying 'we need more Billings's not less' when asked if he could form part of the Carlisle trade. Roberton was very very good today however given we have a huge glut of talent off half back in White (plays as tall as Robbie and I would argue has a better hoof than Robbo), Rice, DMac, Sav and possible monty for another year could he be used to bring in some value for our trade targets Kelly, Lever etc... no point having a ripping AFL standard half back line running around at Sandy in 2018...
Billings is a NO go as we don't have enough outside class and finishing ability to let him go...

Thoughts? Why the hell aren't these guys crating media noise like the other unsigned 'stars' at other clubs?? Or am I just deluded as to their value?

Robbo has apparently been offered a long term deal on good coin by the Hawks. Robbo seems happy to stay, but I think he wants Saints to commit to a longer term deal.

MG and/or Stav have mentioned that contract length is the only haggle in Robbo's case, but very confident Billings is done and the announcement is just a timing thing... On the back of his sealer yesterday, this week seems a good time to drop that good news!

Billings said a few weeks ago he had agreed but was just waiting for his manager to come back from holidays to check it . Don't know how true that was but I'm hopeful.

Wr are using Hawks 1st frot this year and our first on Kelly and using Hawks 1st next year (trade for Robbo) on Lever.

Joey's dome imo, he just doesn't bring that pressure we need in the fwd line, his pace isn't great, and his disposals are neat, but doesn't seem to have the penetration he had, they've said it numerous times, joeys role in the back line was as a on field coach, if he isn't doing that then we have 3 others guys we need to get games into ( Rice, White, McKenzie )

So is the Billings deal only for the reported two years? Also, do you know if the club is working on deals with any of Acres, Longer, Membrey or Ross? All four of those come OOC at the end of next year, Membrey, Ross and Acres in particular we'd want to tie up quick smart before any other clubs start to get a sniff (no disrespect to Longer).

At the minimum I'd be wanting their first next year as well as upgrading a 3rd rounder to a 2nd rounder
