Russel Robertson PSD, low cost second/ third tall for a year?

How old is he ?

Robbo is 30 (turns 31 in November) & has struggled with injury for the last couple of years. As rightly pointed out by igt, you have to keep in mind who Robertson was playing on today. It was a poor match up for Anderson, who is far better suited to playing on smalls/mediums, whereas Robbo plays tall.

I will be surprised if Robbo is picked up by anyone. It was only a couple of weeks ago Robbo was running around in the VFL & therefore not considered to be in the best 22 of the bottom club, despite being one of the most experienced players on the Demons' list.

Time for Robbo to call it stumps for his AFL career.

Didnt impress me at all today, sure he burned Anderson on the lead a few times but was still a pretty mediocre showing. He has absolutely no defensive side, cant win the ball on the ground and can only run straight lines.

It was as open a game as you'll ever see at AFL level. Even Jamar managed to kick a bag.

Any player that kicks 5 goals in a match has to be considered. Smart player that in a better side would give us a bit more depth up forward. The guys only a year or two older than Fev for gods sake. May just be the bit player we need before Yarran/Garlett takes off. His influence on the young forwards could be invaluable. Worth a late pick for sure.

He was getting arm-chair delivery and had plenty of room to lead into. I don't think it mattered who was on him - the problem was downfield with on-ballers not harassing their Melbourne opponents.

Liked his farewell address but we already have enough young options. If Aker became available - is worth a lot more

It might be fun if he came very cheap. He has been my favourite non-blues player for a while because of the excitment factor and could add a X-factor to our side. He could also pinch hit at full forward if Fev went down at all which is an option we don't seem to have at the moment. Being a player over 30 wouldn't we get a reduction on any salary cap declarations. He could be our fatty Dew for an unlikely run at a premiership.

co-sign. he's been one of my fav non-blues players the past few years. i love the fact he tries to take ridiculous marks in normal situations. it amuses me.

i think Robbo as a third forward option would be a very different beast to the Robbo we've seen the past few years, who has been the primary option on an average team. i don't think he's over the hill yet. i would honestly take a punt on him... at the right price.
