What I like is how well they mesh together as selections. If it was just Sharp it'd feel safe but not as exciting, if it was just Robey it'd feel like the weight was all on Sully's shoulders. Robey and Sharp balance each other out well in terms of upside + bankability and Farrow ties it all together as a mix of both.
def/mid (Farrow)
pure mid (Sharp)
fwd/mid (Robey)

throw in a genuine defender (Kondogiannis) and a genuine small forward (El~Achkar) and it's one of the most well rounded drafts we've ever had it feels like.

Having looked at the direction of the game, I'm going to say Farrow.

Farrow - The most likely to have a good AFL career. Kicking and composure are very important in the modern game especially with less congestion. Suits Farrow perfectly.

Robey - Has superstar potential as a goal-kicking mid, but his floor is much lower than the others as he was picked off the back of about 3 months of good form. I want to see how he goes for a couple of years before I get excited.

Sharp - There are a few things stacked against him if we're talking best of the three. The modern game is moving away from congestion where he thrives and is moving towards speed and skills. He isn't that slow nor is he a bad kick, but I think the other two have skills that suit the modern game better. Plus, I think Sharp has more competition for his preferred role than the other two so he might be playing forward for much of his first couple of years.

Just because the "modern game is moving away" from something does not mean that a specific type isn't still required. You still need A graders that fit the inside mould, while surrounding them with good outside players. All the good teams have them still. What's set us apart from them in the past and now is that we've never had a good A grade mix of either.

Farrow and Robey have the scope to have the biggest impact but Sharp is a beast we have not had for a while. Very smart player. Very good inside ball winner. Does not simply chase the footy like a seagull after a chip. Knows when to go and when to position himself defensively. Good size. Plays team first, second and third.
The modern game has moved away from plodding types who cannot transition. The change is you can only really carry a couple in your midfield rotation.
There are plenty of average paced midfielders still finding the footy because they have the footy IQ to do it.

He could be an A-grader and every AFL side needs a good inside player, but the thread is about who will be the best of the 3.

At the beginning of the decade, players like Sharp made or broke a side. It was one of the most important positions on the field. If this draft was done between 2018-2022, Sharp would probably go top 3.

If we look at the modern game, Farrow and Robey have attributes that give them a better chance at being elite.

Depends on what you want as elite. Players that have elite team defence and footy IQ are very under rated.

Farrow looks elite at half back, but from what I have seen lacks a lot of midfield craft. He is 100% what we need to move the footy.

Robey will either be Jake Stringer at his best or Jake Stringer at his worst. Has the potential to be a game breaker.

Sharp will probably never be considered a star but could also end up being the most valuable player simply because if he makes the transition, he can fix a multitude of issues we have had in the midfield for years. Let's face it we are super thin on leaders and players who get team defence and have a decent footy IQ.

Modern game still needs leaders who understand team defence.
Despite what people keep saying congestion has not reduced a lot despite the rule changes and the last touch out of bounds is only producing 5 or so free kicks a game.
Where you do need a player like Sharp is centre clearance. The more open the game the more goals and centre throw ups there are.

Even Patrick Cripps isn't suited to this current game.

Its due to his side, throw Cripps in the dogs or Lions sides and people would still be frothing over him.

Same as throw their stars in bottom clubs, and they will be just given the NWM treatment and shut out of the game.

The best sides bat deep in talent and depth. You can't just tag one player and expect to win.

This year we will see some absolute beltings, or otherwise clubs will be rotating the squads more when they come up agains the bottom 4-8 teams.

Robey will be our Dunkley (with foot skills)
Its hard to think of a player with size and speed and can go forward and kick a goal.
Closest is probably Dustin Martin. But hes a lot bigger than dusty.

He is probably the next Anthony Koutafides / Matthew Pavlich.

Stanton, Prismall.

I have a acquaintance who used to play at the cats and I was talking about zaharakis being fit at the Dons, and he laughed and said half of the cats side would have been better endurance wise than zaka was at his peak at the dons.

Also awesome to see zaka run a sub 3 mara at the the back end of his iron man the other day.

Never saw Prismall do what Sharp did. Maybe Jarrod Atkinson was the last player.

I have watched this clip 100 times, have we ever had a player been able to cover the ground like this (don't say Stanton)? I was genuinely amazed.

Yeah, can't believe people are questioning the selection. Exactly what we need.

Still a sad indictment on our core training over the last decade or 2 IMO.

You've never heard of Essendon Champion Mark Bolton, obviously :)
