It wasn't the real thing because it's not FLoyd without Roger!
Your favourite Floyd album is Momentary Lapse?!

I must admit I was quite baffled by this revelation myself.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion so I'm not knocking Roddy on this one, but I barely rate that as a Pink Floyd album, let alone a good one.

I am so keyed up for this one. I'm going on Monday in Brisbane. Can anyone tell me if Snowy White is on this tour?

I thought it was amazing. Bit sick of going to concerts and having them turn into mini war protests, but regardless it was just amazing.

BLOODY AWESOME SHOW! The sound was fantastic and the huge video screen worked great with the songs.Being on the Floor in the middle and 6 rows from the stage was mind blowing!!!......And for the record my favorite Floyd albums are Meddle,The Wall,DSOTM and Animals.I was busting to see Roger's Perfect Sense Parts 1,2 live and it was just amazing.............:D

Yes this concert is a huge anti war protest but Roger isn't jumping on a bandwagon here as he has always been this way. He has always been political whilst the rest of Pink Floyd had to keep a tight reign on him but now he is doing what he loves and spreading his political message.
If that is all he was doing then i wouldn't be too impressed but it's only one side of the man. The other side of course is some of the best music ever written and these guys performed it flawlessly.
It was simply an outstanding show.

Sheep was absolutely brilliant.
How good was Time???? Man that blew me away. Hows that old guy doing the stand up drums at the start then jumping straight into the kit without missing a beat. That old dude can seriously play.

Easily the best concert i have ever been to, tho there isnt much to beat for me yet.

the standouts would have to be shine on, sheep, us and them, and the whole encore especially vera/bring the boys back home. dark side of the moon was just phenomenal, they did it perfectly.

i'm definately gonna shout my mate beers for the rest of our lives for letting me witness that truly amazing show.

isnt he supposed to letting 'Algie' (the inflatable pig for those who dont know!!) float away with 'Free david hicks' written on it?

Yep wasn't keen on that one but the pig also has "Impeach George Bush Now" written on it's arse.
One thing about that pig is it makes you realise just what an outstanding political album Animals really was. It wasn't spelt out for you. You had to use your brain. Could anyone imagine that kind of album being done today?

Yeah, my wife and I went on Thursday night to the gig at the Rod Laver Arena (hilariously called "Rob Laver Arena" in the Hun yesterday online) and it was fecking brilliant. We had gold class tickets and were in the circle to the right hand side of the stage, so we had the best view of the pig (called an elephant by the same reviewer employed by the Hun - did he even go?) as it floated past with "Free David Hicks" on it. Ironically, given the Muslim attitude to pigs, perhaps David would not have appreciated the gesture?!

Anyway, I thought most of the music was great. Roger was in fine form, but for those that went to the In the Flesh gig a few years back (2002), Snowy White did the solos. On 1/2/07, Dave Kilminster did most of the solos. By an amazing coincidence, my wife and I were staying in the Langham after the gig while our daughter stayed at our apartment. We had breakfast in the restaurant and at about 10.15am, Dave turned up for a late breakfast. We spoke briefly about the gig, and he mentioned that Snowy had had technical problems the previous night.

I thought the female soloist that "reinterpreted" Great Gig in the Sky was losing her voice towards the end of the "song". It is a terrifically hard song to sing, but that was a little disappointing.

I'm not a fan of Roger's solo work, so I'm glad he left most of that out. Leaving Beirut was better than I expected it to be, although my wife thought it was a little tacky.

I was really happy to hear Sheep played live, as I haven't heard that before, but I thought that they cut Shine On short to fit everything in in the first set.

On the one hand I was happy to not hear Roger sing all the songs on DSotM, but on the other, having seen the Pink Floyd Experience back in 2005 (IIRC), I was disappointed that Roger didn't sing more than 3 songs from the album.

And Comfortably Numb was great. The imagery that was used throughout the show was terrific also.

Amazing concert! Just amazing.

Up there with ACDC. The sound was just perfect and the dsom was done faultlessly. And while he may be one of the biggest lefties in the world, you cannot deny his musical talents which makes up for it (;))

Best $200 i have spent for a long long time.

by reading your posts in the BDO thread, i have decided that you do not deserve to know who Roger Waters is. :p
oh wait i know... he was the non-lead singer of an overrated band who had hit singles such as.. another brick in the wall, and .... uh ....
oh and his amazing solo work with hit singles such as.... ....
and then charges $200 a ticket to see a flying pig :thumbsu:

Sorry to sound pedantic but the written word on the pig said;
"Bring David Hicks Home", not "Free David Hicks".
Huge difference in the context of things.

Stick to Evermore and Jet you ignorant little man.
One of the most influential songwriters of the 20th century doesn't need your validation.

I'm sure Greenday would be able to write such masterpeices as Comfortably Numb and Money I mean come on...Boulevard of Broken dreams...classic

*rolls eyes intensely*

I loved the concert as I said in another thread which I started...having not seen this one.

Is it possible to have someone banned from the music forum? Clearly all points raised by Baxter Stockman in the music forum from now on can be considered null and void.

My god, I'm agreeing with camsmith. Pull your head in Baxter Stockman.

I got my tickets yesterday for the Perth gig. I'm front row, on the floor behind the Gold Class section.

Happy? You bet your arse I am.
