I don't like the way the solo Floydians promote themselves.
Roger: "the genius behind PF" is used on his tour promotions
and Dave's solo album had a sticker "the voice and guitar of PF"
It would be like Paul McCartney touring with the headline "the bassist and latter creative mastermind and tyrant of the Beatles"
The music is good though, just the gripe with egos

Roger and Eric Clapton are touring at the same time, as in, consecutive days type of thing, so word is that Eric will show up at Roger's concerts and vice-versa, and more rumours of a collaboration on one of Roger's next albums, he is releasing two, one of them is a sequel to The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking which of course Clapton played lead in.

Roger Waters IS a music GOD,THE WALL,DARK SIDE OF THE MOON,THE FINAL CUT,THE PROS AND CONS OF HITCHHIKING,RADIO KAOS.The In The Flesh tour a few years ago BLEW MY MIND even though i had seen the LIVE DVD first,BUT to see him again with the GREAT Bleeding Hearts Band with be AWESOME! I have Gold tickets but I am on the floor though.
Should be a huge night indeed.
I saw Pink Floyd back in 86 I think it was and that is still probably the best concert I have ever seen and I've seen freaking heaps.
Pity David, Rick and Nick wont be there but David can't stand Roger so not much chance of ever seeing the four of them together i would think.
I play In The Flesh DVD a fair bit myself and if this show is up to that standard then I shall be pretty freaking happy.

Who went tonight in Sydney? I've heard one review who said it was great, awesome and the rest of it. But i've also heard one that said it was 'ok' but not the same without Gilmour (which is obvious) and that the lighting and effects wasn't as good as expected.
So can anyone else give me their opinion?
Im going next Friday night (in Melb) and really hope its as good as im expecting (and for the money i've paid it better be lol)

haha i'm not paying anything cos today out of the blue, a mate of mine who had a spare ticket asked me if i wanted to go with him tomoro night. i had no idea he liked Pink Floyd.
anyways now all of a sudden i am going to one of the greatest ever musical masterpieces (DSOTM) performed live by a music legend, and i can't f****ing wait!!!!!

Have seen the real thing, 'In The Flesh' (although admittedly without Waters at the time), back in '88. Don't need to see Waters solo, Floyd tunes or not, coz it's never gunna be as good.
Plus my all time favourite Floyd album is Momentary Lapse of Reason, and I doubt very much he'll be doing any of THAT album!!

That show was freaking outstanding.

It was every bit as good as I expected and then some.
The sound was flawless. I mean FLAWLESS.
The playing was spot on with barely (if any really) a bum note hit all night.
The set list was awesome, but with a catalogue as big and as good as RW's, there was always going to be some huge omissions.
He didn't play as much off The Wall as I would've liked as I prefer it over DSOTM, but was extremely happy to hear Perfect Sense and Leaving Beirut. Perfect Sense especially was in the top 3 songs played all night which is quite a compliment considering the wall to wall classics it was up against.
The final encore was absolutely superb. THDOOL/Another Brick in the Wall, followed by Vera/Bring the Boys Back Home and finished off with Comfortably Numb.
Bring the Boys Back Home was especially poignant in these troubled times. RW didn't sit on the fence all night as far as his politics go and this moment was no exception.
In reality though, this show was an absolute corker from the first chord hit until the very last bit of pyro. It went beyond merely seeing a rock show and is now comfortably nestled above the very best shows I've ever attended. (I've been to well over 100 concerts since '89)
Also, huge props to the stage show. Not overly big on the pyro front but quite unique and went a long way to enhancing the music rather than detracting from it. Highlighted with an absolutely huge screen behind the band, it also served as an interactive tool which was used to great effect in the lead up to songs and just as well during them.
If you got some spare time, plenty of spare cash and the desire to see a legend at work get down to Rod Laver tonight. You will not be disappointed and at 62, probably your last chance to see RW down this neck of the woods.
