He has a go but his disposal, particularly as he is a few years older than other new recruits, is a big issue. I rate him about the same as I did Bartram when he first came on the scene; has a good go but not sure if he'll make it. Happy for him to prove me wrong and he will certainly get a few more games if he keeps playing like today.
Great game but would have loved it if he was selfish with that last kick, but great debut* from him.
*Regarded as a debut for me seeing as he crippled himself 1 minute into his first game last season.

Bartram was our best hbflanker in his first year. Played 22 games in his first year and played sensational. Done his ankle against adelaide in round 22 and hurt us being out. You are wrong!

Wrong bartram was a half bank flanker and Bail is a forward. Thay are 2 completely players moron!
Okay 3 things.
1. He was indeed used as a tagger in his first season, he got some very good reviews for some of his shutdown jobs.
2. I never compared him and Bail so I don't know why you insinuated that I did.
3. Bail is a midfielder who will rotate between the midfield and the forward flank, he was recruited because of his endurance capacities.

I wasn't comparing them as players, I was comparing them as possible instant impact/not long term options. Yes Bartam played 22 games in his first season (and a lot of these games were spent as a pure tagger) but where is he now? Borderline 22 and may well get dropped again this week. That was exactly my point.
Bail was very good today, I was impressed.
I loved his toughness, just so hard at the football.
Looking forward to seeing more of him.

i've seen alot of him playing for Mt Gravatt in the QAFL a few years ago, and he's a ripper. I was out of my seat when he ran inside 50 in the dying seconds as I'd seen him kicked a hundred goals just like it, but at the end of the day, playing essentially his first game of AFL footy, the right thing for him to do was pass to Petterd. I'd be holding back on a statement regarding his standard of disposal, I have a feeling with a bit more experience it'll improve.

Yeah would've loved to see him have that last shot too. However every player from both teams were well ****ed by last 5-10 minutes of the match, particularly the younger blokes so I could imagine accuracy and distance troubling him there.

He was very impressive. I didn't expect anything from him at all after watching him a few times playing for Casey. I was pleasantly surprised with his pace, poise and aggression.
Another mature aged 'debutant' that looks the goods. Promising prospect.

I too was impressed with his first real game, plenty of upside with him, Won't be a star but I think he could become a player that stays in the team even when we start to climb the ladder.
I am pretty sure that Bail is actually a right footer and kicked that ball at the end on his left, which if it is the case was a pretty decent effort.
