So you are telling me someone from cricket Australia told you we'd be rotating our first drop batsmen, depending on which opening batsman was dismissed first? Can’t say but the plan not long ago was that Marsh and Smith would rotate depending on whether Finch or Warner were dismissed first.
To be fair, JL has long liked the left/right combination in short form cricket. Depending on who gets out can decide who you put in next. Finch/Warner is right/left, SMarsh is left, Smith right. So you are telling me someone from cricket Australia told you we'd be rotating our first drop batsmen, depending on which opening batsman was dismissed first?
.....right!

Should we try Finch in the middle order in the UAE?
It’s important we have him up and going in the tournament especially with Smith not captaining the side. A change of scenes might work. It’s not like we have no other opening options with Warner, Khawaja, S.Marsh and Carey all opening at this level previously. Khawaja and Warner would my preferred combination atm - if the selectors see it the same way you can’t have the captain getting in the way of that.
Surely he wouldn’t be the worst as a finisher and he seems decent enough at knocking darts around for just under a run a ball (well before this form slump anyway).
As captain, can't see Finch dropping himself down the order.
The odds of that happening would be like 100-1.I can see him being “pushed” down the order

Aaron Finch is willing to demote himself down the order if it will help Australia's World Cup defence.
"If that means me batting at six, I'll comfortably do that. If it's at the top, three or four - it doesn't matter," Finch said.
"Personal results aren't what this side is about. I think that's what has made our improvement as dramatic and quick as it has been.
"If you go in just solely focused on scoring a hundred or thinking 'if I bat five I'm not going to get a hundred, I don't get enough opportunity', that's not what is best."
The skipper floated Shaun Marsh as another candidate to open during the World Cup.
He says himself ...light the way from the middle hand..everyone slots in one two and four and five...darts welcome..Should we try Finch in the middle order in the UAE?

Strike rate of 96 in 104 innings. 14 centuries, average 43. If that is not good enough to walk back into the side, I don't know what is.Warner not in my side at the moment.
Rest of the side going too well for him to automatically walk back in.
