Oh oh!!!
Why would he delay a clean up or follow up surgery until the middle of the pre season.

The ingrown toe nail comparison by Jaques was a real concern, who releases press releases for things that minor.
I'm concerned:(

Having any kind of surgery during the PS isnt good. It must be of considerable concern to require an operation in what is probably the most important time of the PS. If it was a lingering minor concern with a past injury, why wasnt it dealt with in the break? I'm quite concerned about it. Roo is our best and most important player, the last thing we need is to have the captain and our heart and soul on the side lines.

Wouldn't worry too much.
If it was groin and eye surgery at the same time, then it would be something to worry about. :D

Nah, in all seriousness if he is to only miss two weeks it wouldn't be something too serious.

I heard that it was due to a pre-exisiting medical condition likened to a cist etc.

Hvaing seen a cist being removed (YUK) I say disgusting to watch, but not too much of a mess around in the area and not too much of an intrusion. Probably just a bit of bruising.

Maybe he is a public patient and has only just been offered his spot for elective surgery:rolleyes:
:)!

C'mon dude that a bit too dramatic.

Roo ruptured his thumb ligament around this time a couple of years ago and went on to win the brownlow ;)

Its just a follow up surgery, don't read too much into it. It might have just showed up in the last couple of weeks.

I heard he had a penlie extention

Now, now. We all saw the photos last season. Roo is quite adequate in that department and unless he is going to have a career in pr0n after football, I don't think he needs any enhancement.

Speaking of groins...
On another note Congratulations to Roo on his engagement.
Funny that in the Sunday Mail (??) Roo mentioned that certain people thought his groin injury may have had something to do with his upcomming engagement:)

Maybe it is too dramatic. Maybe its just a minor problem that wont hinder him at all during the season. However groin injuries always seem to start as minor, but then just dont go away. We've had players have seasons destroyed by what started off as minor groin complaints, including Roo in 97. I hope your right, but I'll be convinced its not a set back when he's been back on the track and lines up come first round of the preseason cup.

even if it doesnt linger, it would set him back a bit as you get a bit of a momentum going with pre-season thats nice if you can keep it up. Unless its the snip, u'd think it will be more than 2 wks before he is completely back into it too.

Isn't the diagnosis of OP or serious problems always said to be a "minor groin complaint". This worries me.
