that's a fair stretch of the sauce bottle.......have another read.....
"Someone with inside information told me that he was only playing on the love for the game last year and that his body was a total wreck."

Sounds like the knackers to me.

No offence but it seems everyone has a source or knows someone who had told this or that on internet forums and very really do any of the predictions eventuate.

I would be very reluctant to believe that Neil Craig has programmed the year around Mark Ricciuto and his health. Placing all the eggs in the one basket hoping that Mark Ricciuto can have a stellar year is extremely dangerous. I would hope that Neil Craig has designed a structure that relies on everyone performing from a first year player to a 300 gamer like Mark Ricciuto, not just one or two senior players.

So crows98, you’re saying I completely made up my “source”.

OK champ. Why the heck would I lie?

There is of course the remote possibility Drummond, that your "sauce" is full of bullsh1t.

Up until catching a cold and then the strained back muscle in the last couple of weeks, the regular trackwatchers have been telling me that Roo has had an outstanding pre-season.

So who's wrong - their eyes or your "sauce"??

Nope I don’t think you lied or made up anything, I believe that you posted what you understood was the truth. How ever I am extremely reluctant to believe your source.

You are yet to show me any evidence that the Gold Coast franchise was the club that offered Brett Maher the highest amount of money.

I don't have to. I wasn't the one spruiking that I had a source.

Do you know who Brett's manager is??

Let me guess.....you?

But for the record yes I do. His management company is MVP sports Australia and his agent is Mr Paul Bell – host of talking hoops on coast FM. :thumbsu:

You probably didn't but why should he have to believe it? I agree with him, everyone seems to have some kind of source so how do we know who to believe?

IMO anyone that says they have a "source" is in some way attention seeking anyway. Unless you're Neil Craig I don't think anyone has to believe you.

That was my impression .....all been a bit alarmist

I'll believe all the rumours when Roo is unable to take his place on the field.

As for the negativity re the Crows chances this year from some people here

1. We don't have Henschell, Clarke, Hart and Biglands from last year

2. However, some "new recruits" are Welsh and Perrie who hardly played last year. Perrie was probably our best forward until he did his PCL. I know Welsh is always a week to week proposition but if both are fit, they give us options

3. Huddo has played footy last year and had a full pre-season under his belt after his ACL operation. I would have thought he was a better option than Biglands as he probably rucks better and does more around the ground

4. Roo basically missed the last 9 weeks or so of the season as for the 5 weeks before his Parvo virus was diagnosed, it was obvious something was wrong with him except he had a good performance in his 300th. As well McLeod missed numerous games due to the cyst in his foot and subsequent infection, Burton missed 7 games through the season.

5. Despite the above we went well in the minor round and went within a whisker of playing in the GF. Maybe we will get worse injuries this year and others will have to step up but it would have to be a bad year for injuries to be on par with 2006 so I'm feeling quietly confident

Scott

I have a lot of faith in the ability of our youngsters to pick up the slack and really step up again this year. Douglas, Porplyzia, Knights, Vince, Maric, they've all shown great talent and I believe they have what it takes to lift us to even greater heights in 2007.

Halleluljah!! A miracle has happened!! That total wreck which is Roo's body has been magically healed!!

Has van Berlo laid hands on him? ;)

Paul Hamilton was on 5AA a little earlier saying that Roo has had a really good pre-season and is raring to go. He currently has a bit of tightness in the back, but nothing major.

The plan is for Roo to spend a fair bit of time up forward, but he will also definitely be part of the mid-field rotations.

Lawdy, lawdy!!

Good news Macca :thumbsu: but who is this new recuit called Roo, Mark Ricciuto is GONE...isn't he

C98 - will you stop it, we are all getting sick and tired of the snide little comments.

I just wish most people would think before posting or at least read over what they have typed before hitting submit.

Yeah ok - all of this is my ********ing fault.

I never started it, I just had an opinion on what the future should be and then got railroaded into an argument.

Well I'm certainly happy to pull my head in and wait for Round 1......:)

This is your post C98:

Round 1:

FF: Bode Welsh McGregor

HF: Burton Perrie Edwards

C: Johncock Ricciuto Mattner

HB: McLeod Bock Reilly

FB: Bassett Rutten Douglas

Ruck: Hudson Goodwin Shirley

Interchange: Maric/Meesen Torney, Thompson, Nathan Van Berlo

Now how can you say you didnt expect Roo to play in the midfeild??? That is your expected line up:confused:

Then you said this:

So one minute you are saying well he is playing in the guts, next you contridict yourself and say well no we cant because of his fitness.

We all said that he wouldnt play midfeild only in bursts, he will play a primary role up forward not in the guts all the time, I started a thread on the very subject asking where we would expect him to play and what impact he will have, didnt you read that thread????

I don’t know how to answer this question with out getting other people annoyed so I apologize in advance

Mediator wanted: Is this post that hard to understand, if it is can you please elaborate on where it is confusing?

Where am I saying that?

Mark Ricciuto will spend time (no one knows how much yet) in the midfield (that is a fact – see what Macca said regarding Paul Hamilton) however he will also spend time in the forward line, only the match committee knows the breakdown of percentage he will spend between the midfield and the forward line. His levels of fitness will indicate this.

The quote you placed in bold – Football is a team sport and it will require the entire squad to perform at there best for the Adelaide Football Club to achieve the ultimate prize in 2007.

Anything Mark Ricciuto gives us from now on is a bonus. Just because I placed Mark Ricciuto in the centre of my ideal team doesn’t mean he will spend the entire game playing there, Ben Hudson has been placed as the starting ruckman but he will not play the entire game in the ruck, is that to hard to understand.

I am getting sick of repeating myself, where did I say he would play the entire game in the centre?

Just because he may start there, doesn’t mean he plays the entire game in the position.

I am extremely sorry and do apologize if this is getting tedious and repetitive

Dont back away from something you said or typed, that tells me you expect Riccuito to play midfeild.
