First time I ever had it, it was in a non-alcoholic Cider bottle.
Being very past it, and thirsty for a "normal" drink, I took as big a swig as one can and almost died on the spot.

It was a "home made" one wasn't it. Those things can be very strong. I knew a bloke who made them so that they had 65% alcochol. Now thats some nasty stuff.

My best mate as a young buck was Serbian and I destroyed more than a few brain cells drinking that stuff!!

I just had a body shudder just thinking about it!!!

Well now, according to my mates parents it was purely for medicinal purposes.
Bottle in the room, one under the car's driver's seat, one......well just about everywhere.

Now don't get me started on the homemade Grappa stories.

Unfortunately we used to take far too many sips, so we usually ended up p*ssed out of our brains.

I remember after one such session, another one of my mates fell head first into a 44 gallon drum of black bitumen like liquid at a roadworks site, and we had to grab him by the legs and haul him out to save him from drowning in it.

He looked like Al Jolson singing "Mammy" after we hauled him out!!
