Amazing player. Still remember how quick he used to be--some have forgotten he was our run with player on the likes of Judd, yet could also line up on Goodes.

My only regret is that his LAST game was that game against Carlton. In fact, will ignore that and remember his last real game as that superb effort of his in 09 GF.

Max was my favourite and everybodies favourite....i still believe with him in the side this year we would have been a force to reckon with.

You know something? (doing my K Rudd impersonation here), I'm more upset about Max retiring than that other fellow who went to Queensland.

Thanks for everything Max (especially the '09 flag), and for being a one club player.

At least the loss isn't a surprise. We missed him enormously this season, especially come finals time. Not only was he our best (and perhaps only) defensive forward, he also played a crucial role as the link up man in the forward line.

We needed a replacement in 2010, will we see one in 2011? 2050? Somehow I don't think it'll be that easy...
