Rookie Cat B Isiah Farrell-Nelson

I reckon if we took him we would've heard by now, but the club isn't going to put a tweet out saying they aren't taking him, so I think you're right and we passed.
Maybe they want to fly him down tomorrow. Put a Collingwood shirt on him, snap a photo, then tweet.
Although the AFL would also tweet out players taken as Cat B? (Patrick Keane?)

Rule says we nominate him and then player has to consent, so the fact that we haven't heard about any of these guys is that they are still to be asked whether they consent.

Surely this would've been talked about with him if we thought we would Cat B him.

Another hyphen double or long name, if we take him.

I thought we only chose cat B rookies later? Or did I imagine that?
CatB next generation supposed to be lodged straight after rookie draft.
I think we decided to pass (maybe due to already drafting his type of player (small forward) last Friday?)

That does appear to be that, it seems we haven't taken him.

The powerful and versatile midfielder was one of seven players given a chance as Category B rookies as clubs finalised their lists on Monday.

Irra, 22, has been training with the Power since the players returned for pre-season and, as a member of their next generation academy, was able to join the club when no rival outfit selected him in the national or rookie drafts.

Under the new AFL rules, clubs can list players as Category B rookies from the AFL's indigenous and multicultural academies if they were overlooked in the drafts.

Edit: It does say (elsewhere) that 2pm Wednesday is Final List Lodgement so who knows. There's still a few names like Corey Maynard at Melbourne (Cat. B Rookie) who I presume have to be added at some time.

So I guess Wednesday would be the Last Chance of adding any new player

I'm not totally sure. I suspect we would have had to name this lad today if we were taking him, but there seems to be a slight amount of doubt.

We heard nothing from the Club yet about it

Yep. Lists have been finalised. Don't worry too much about it Dave. Cat B rookies are usually long shots anyway.

Very annoying that GWS gets a player like Sproule as a cat B rookie with no other clubs given the opportunity to draft him as a regular rookie first
Then why has the Club not come out and Said he not Joining the Club and why?

It's fairly insignificant Dave. The club doesn't have to make a public announcement about every minor decision they make.

It's just annoying, to nominate a player...then pass on him.
What message is that sending to the communities in our zone.
Everyone up there would have been so excited when we nominated him.
Go to the big city, play for the Pies...
Then...nothing.
Locals are probably slagging off Collingwood as I type.
Done ourselves no favours there.
I am disappointed.

You've gone way over the top. A nomination isn't drafting the player, it's confirming that they're an eligible player, essentially.

Everyone would have known that he wasn't home and hosed. There were a lot of nominated players from that list that didn't get picked up.

I would suggest that perhaps he's a similar type to others we drafted, and by the time all of the draft shook down, we no longer needed his type.

I'm not talking about how you or I perceive it...rather the good folk in Barkley region.

I'd suggest they would be thrilled he was considered.
Must admit what a great name for a player.
Does sound private school boy name ;)
