Do People here still think we will draft Aisake O'Halpin?

I don't know which I'm more stunned by - The fact that Suban went higher, or that Heyne went so low... I'd forgotten about this, but I still feel good about it.

Remember that it's Fremantle that drafted Suban, so there's still a good chance I'm right :p

My point was more in response to the idea that Suban wasn't worth anything near a Top 5 pick though, and I was right in the end. I still wouldn't have drafted him at #24, but who knows what Freo is thinking...

If I happen to be wrong though, can I use the past six months as time already served? :o ;)

LOL....Vinnie would you like I should start researching a good lube for you?

Definitely one of the scarier personal tortures put on the line to back up a point. (Not that there is anything wrong with that....)

Re: Welcome to Collingwood:Lachlan Keeffe(Pick 69 of the Rookie Draft)

I am personally very optimistic about Keeffe as a prospect. I think ruck is probably one of the most forgiving positions on the ground if you lack "football smarts" If your big enough, tough enough and athletic enough your in with a real shot at "learning" enough about the game.

Keeffe is certainly big and athletic enough, and is taken with little to no expectations so he will have in all likelyhood the whole of his three year rookie contract to get his skinny ass in the gym and to "learn" the possie in the vfl. From what I have seen he has a good work rate and I like his chances. Of course taking a relatively blank canvas is a real hail mary and is more likely to fail then to work out, that said I still like his chances.

As I said, I'm still not worried, because for me to be wrong, Freo would have had to get a draft pick right, so there's a good chance that I'm not wrong.

Re: Welcome to Collingwood:Scott Reed(Pick 78 of the Rookie Draft)

Scott Reed

ScottReed135x200.jpg

Height: 192 cm
Weight: 78 k
DOB: 03-10-1990
Recruited from: Pennant Hills

Scott Reed, who stands at 192 centimetres, was originally signed by the Magpies in 2006 as the club’s first ever NSW scholarship holder.

The athletic midfielder/half back from Terrigal on the Central Coast will be eligible to be drafted by Collingwood at the end of the 2008 season if the Magpies decide to commit their final pick in the AFL Draft.

Reed participated in the team trip to South Africa earlier this year. Given he doesn’t get to spend a lot of time in Melbourne training at the Lexus Centre with his potential team mates, Reed cherished the experience.

“It’s been really good to train with all the boys, they’ve made me feel really at home and helped me fit in,” he said.

“I hardly get to come down (to Melbourne) much during the year, so two weeks over here, to spend time with them, is a really good thing for me, because I get to see what it’s like from both sides, both socially and professionally, so it’s a great experience.”

Scott has signed a two-year deal with the club and will be listed as a NSW rookie player until 2010.

Re: Collingwood take Tristan Francis with first pick in Rookie Draft

Very good pick up, he was a gun before he did his knee. Pretty sure he was just about winning every award in the TAC until his injury

Re: Collingwood take Tristan Francis with first pick in Rookie Draft

What a relief. For a second I thought we had created a new player from the offcuts of Tristan Walker and Matty Francis!
