sold - get him for peanuts as a rookie and have a ready made backup for lukey / tanner / dawson / silva.
might look attractive from his perspective too given he's half a chance to get some game time or upgrade in the coming years.
rate his work on the taller type forwards that Silva can sometimes struggle to match
Exactly who is left from the draft that we would be interested in recruiting and I would suggest midfielders will be top of our list with the loss of Pitt and Mitchie .
Moro could breakdown again and we need insurance if that happens ,not that I would wish that on him in any shape or form . Just love him and the effort he is putting in .
Mellington I would suggest would not be a priority for us but if he is still available the Club will re rooky him only to show faith with our last pick if he is still available since he had a year to go on his contract before his desire to look for a better chance to get more games at another club

For me, we have three picks with Lester-smith as one and have two picks lefted.
I would like be looking at mature age rookies.Looking at the rookie draft in recent years, it seems mature have a better chance of playing than 18yr kids.
Bower, Cain, Thorp, Scully, A Black from West Perth, Rodda, Hampson, and Worthington should be looked at.

Too sentimental I think. Seriously, if we choose to pick him up, it should be because he's the player we most need. Let him go, I reckon. For example, if it came down to Mellington vs Tippett vs Bower, Mellington would be the last I'd choose. I think we showed enough 'faith' by cutting him to let him go elsewhere. If he ends out regretting his decision, he will have learnt one very important life lesson.
Totally agree. We have Lester-smith and Duffy for medium forward as back ups plus others.

Eli looks OK but I would prefer a left footer TBH .
I know I'm being choosy but hey bear with me on this one because we have a lack of them in the team IE : Suban , Taberner , Hill and D Pearce are the only ones that come to mind so I'm a bit worried about our lack of them

Would be great if we could pick up another young player to develop such as Vandeleur, "Mature Age" is great to fill immediate needs but if there is a good kid out there worth taking a punt on I think we should.
Getting another spurr, mzunga, broughton and Barlow a waste of time. 20yr to 23yr players who plays regular vfl, wafl or wafl better than a kid playing colts not being in the top 60 old picks, yes I think so.
Hampton from subiaco seems to a late developer and get great numbers at wafl, why not him. Or rodda who missed out last year but played in winning gf team. Is rodda better than a copping, Howson or any other young kid who hasn't done anything.

2008 had four 18yrs rookie listed has gone onto solid careers, but after that only Marley Williams.
Majority of rookie listed that succeed are 20yrs plus.

I think Carltank are a chance to grab Thorp before we do. I'd like to think we'd grab Joel Tippett, but I think you're right. If he's going to get picked up it will be before our first pick, and even if he's available, as much as I like what I've seen of him, I don't think Freo will pick him up.

Ok it was late at night, I am an old fella who's memory is fading and I had a couple of glasses of a good red and so on and so on you get the picture ,long story short stuffed up another one DAM
I actually thought Mellington could make a decent back pocket. He loves the physical side of the game, he just doesn't quite have the hurt-factor of Sonny, Ballas, Crozier or Duffy as a forward.
