Sorry mate, not sure what you're on about. To clear up confusion, the "please no" was a plea to both beetz and you to stop with the bickering. The second part was me just being Captain Obvious on the topic of rookie upgrades.

I understood what you meant, mate. And don't worry, I won't be continuing on the obvious sensitive subject - seems far too easy to have comments taken out of context and then get all upset about it.

For what it is worth, I think we should upgrade Smith and Morabito.

Tanner Smith at best is a poor mans Dawson (i.e same shit skills without the intelligence to know where and when to zone and drop off, go 3rd man up etc). If we are looking at him for a quick fix its time to tank.

Eshed I think that most people on here are looking at T Smith as a marking forward option. He may not be ideal but seriously, the cupboard is SO bare that this is where we find ourselves. 10 years of neglecting to get a good Key Forward nor draft one leaves us here. Smith is becoming a serious option for a worn out champion and an underperforming Tabs.

Maybe, but he played pretty well as a forward for Peel last week. Seems to have more bulk than Taberner as well.

He seems a lot more serviceable as a forward already. Even if all he becomes is a depth KPF for us, that would do me. Crossing fingers he keeps improving at Peel and earns an upgrade later in the season.

Give Morabito a good 5 weeks of solid ganes then look at him coming in.

Just cause we're last, doesn't mean we turn to the rookie list. Use the young guys on the main list as they're doing.
Blakely, Weller, Tucker, Pearce, Croz, Gray all playing and know this is their time. Don't think we need many more youth in the side than that ATM. Hughes & Langdon will get their opportunity. Collins likely too

He's not performing consistently in the WAFL, why would they upgrade him? There's plenty of guys on the main list already.

Whilst it's clear that Tabs won't make it and we need to tick the final box to see whether Smith will or won't, it's too early to potentially waste a rookie upgrade until Smith has earned the opportunity.

Not saying he won't make a half decent forward and no doubt he wouldn't be any worse than Tabs but he needs to show that he can do it consistently at WAFL level first. He's got such an advantage over his opponents at WAFL level in terms of strength and conditioning that he should be dominating most weeks. But he's not. When he does, upgrade him yes.

Yeah I agree, he needs more time to show consistency. But more so he needs time because he's only just become a forward again. He kicked 4 goals in round 2, and his last game was good. He seems to be settling in to the new role well this time around. If he continues good form over the next few Peel games then I don't see much downside in an upgrade and a shot in the seniors. It's not like anyone else other than Mora is going to earn an upgrade any time soon, sop he's not going to be taking anyone else's spot.

I reckon you might be pleasantly surprised when he finally gets his chance up forward. He looks a natural forward to me. He is quick, knows when to lead and can take a contested grab. Just needs to work on his kicking just like everyone else at the club.

As a side note, I thought it was an interesting topic on 882 on the weekend around the rookie list... Mark Webb couldn't even answer why they're on list that does exactly the same training etc as the senior list yet can only be in the bigs if something goes wrong injury wise.
