Brad Kelleher has pace, beautiful kicking skills, and versatility both up forward and down back. At 188cm, a bit in between, but a rookie spot would be perfect to see if he can develop a bit more. Should be able to play anywhere down the flanks.

Brennan Mills is one I'm gunning for. Injury has plagued his past two junior seasons, so may have slipped under the radar. Not adverse to using his handy, but not special, pace to carry the pill. Gets his own ball, is clean, uses it well and has smarts. Is only 179cm but a genuine footballer.

Tim Looby could be a handy 4th defender down the track. Outstanding kicking skills, and knows how to bring the ball out of the defensive half. Quite equipped physically, and has a bit of a mean streak. Needs to work on accountability.

Two talls to consider are Todd Grima and Luke McEntee. Grima has all the basic tools needed in a key forward, whilst McEntee is the perfect type of player to rookie. Very raw and relatively new to the game; almost the typical rookie pick. Shows some promise as a ruckman.

Marcus Crook could be the annual Falcon selection. Nothing special, but could be handy as a tight checking tagger/small defender. Abit of grunt factor in him. Alan Toovey is another potential mid-sized defender. Versatile, fairly quick, a good mark, and reads the play well.

As far as utilities go, Ryan Jackson has attractive versatility. Not really a fan of his, but wouldn't be too upset if he was rookied. Still lacks pace, and needs to work on his hurt factor in kicks. Tom Redden is another potential utility. Nice size, but body is still raw and needs alot of developing. Very hard at both the man and the ball, and has good skills. Lacks pace though.

Rowan Bonson is the other to consider. Potentially could be as good as another 1st round pick if it all works accordingly.

I'd like to see Jacob McGuane given a chance through the rookie draft. A trier and a local boy; he's had a good TAC season and has been overlooked mostly through height, you would assume.

can someone please fill me in on Bonson, everyone raves about him on here but ive never seen him play or really heard much about him.
who does he play like, why is he such a smokie etc etc..

Havent that they got that Miller guy ear markled?
Anyway, Id wouldnt mind another aboriginal to make it three, slightly taller if possible. They should know what Bonson can give them but id love to get a taller bloke around 190.Aboriginals generally have a fantastic feel for the game, great to watch. Wasnt there a McLean playinf NT , relatative of Magic

Ruckman, Im not sure if McEntre is the man but give sombody a couple of years to improve with the use of our expertise, what about Banjanin?
More Locals , what about one of the other kids in the Addy the other day, McGuane and Simpkin was it?
Like you pick G , of Ryan Jackson, would devellop without a doubt and be a solid player for us, liked his game in the U18 champs. Also Gareth Bowes if we need somebody tough inside

What about more from SA?
Another name that was getting thrown around Rischbieth. Seem to remember having a good leap and test well for endurance.Elliot looked good around the ball
or WA
A kid called Grae Grant was talked up like Muston at one stage.

The rookie system is fantastic, it gives so many kids an extra chance and give the clubs a chance to develop a undrafted kid into a top line AFL player

Imagine Tambling from Richmond. Big leap for his size, quite slight. The wraps where big about his ability but question is can he channel it in an AFL situation

You just got the best Victorian/ 2nd best ruckman in the draft, Trent West!!! How many ruckmen do you need? 5???

Yes my preference is 5 on the list. Have a look at how much Geelongs ruckmen have been effected by injuries.Have a look at Brisbane they ensure even with injuries they had guy there that could ruck. Ruckmen quite often take years to develop so a guy who is missed at this level might seem so much better in 2 years time , with 2 years of top level training.

I'm not 100% sure if he's eligible for a rookie spot. Turns 23 next year, to my understanding...though that doesn't seem to be stopping Slade from qualifying either. VFL top-up player seems the more likely option.

McGuane might get a gig, but his awkward height and lack of pace will count against him, especially considering the position he covers.

Simpkin does some nice things inside with his handwork, but his kicking is rather ordinary. Has some good things going for him, but if I were to pick a Falcon, I'd run with Crook.

Haven't seen him play, but I like what I'm hearing about the boy. Would have loved to see us utilise a late pick on him, though I'm rather satisfied with the crop we picked up.

For what it's worth though, Grant isn't eligible for a rookie listing. Bottom age this year, so still qualifies for another year in the junior system.

Was a top prospect for the 2003 draft, but was held back due to commitment issues.

Skinny indigenous kid, stands just over 6', complete with the flashy, dynamic, mercurial skills. Has clean and quick hands, good balance, awareness, vision and a huge natural leap.

Those who went to draft camp and missed out on saturday would be the most likely ones. Toovey and Taggart from WA may be considered as they were interviewed in Canberra.

I would like to Pick up

Luke McEntee
Todd Grima
Tom Davidson (bit of a whisper)
Rowan Bronson

Chances are zero but hey you can always dream.

If Grima goes take Kelleher or Jackson

I just wonder if we had drafted Grant , would Stokes had been there for Rookie position? Grant may well be an R1 next year !!

Matthew Smith from the crows

Crows fans would think otherwise...

By all accounts, sounds like he's their Jeff Smith. The old built like Tarzan, plays like Jane has been thrown around. Built like a KPP, plays like a flanker, yet is too slow to play that position at AFL level. Average mark, questionable disposal, and 5 years as a rookie without threatening for a senior position.

Pass.

- Very athletic for his height

- Not a real stand out player at the Cannons
- Needs to bulk up
