So I recently moved into university accommodation in a 4 person apartment (as it stands, the apartment is aparently fully booked but only 2 residents) from my parents for the independance, anyway, the agreement has clearly stated that all residents would agree to keeping the apartment in a clean and livable manner, obviously my roomate does not think this applies to him
I go away for a few days to come home 4 days of unwashed dishes so find myself having to wash up his dishes for 4 days. He has never even attempted the dishes... The trash will not be emptied unless I take it out. Cutlery, plates and cups are constantly going missing (into his room I suspect). Random piles of food are being left on the living room ground
He doesn't even clean the toilet or bathroom
among other things.
It seems pretty logical that if you are using a cup just for a simple glass of milk and you want to re-use it or whatever, you wash it up and put it back in the cupboard. Not for him, he goes back for a few glasses and uses a different cup every time. I wake in the morning to find the cupboard empty and 6 cups of milk in the sink
... (obviously late night study sessions)
Anyway, I have found out from other residents in the same complex that it is not new. A few of my mates from other apartments in the same complex lived with him last semester and reported the same problem... subsequently moved out into other apartments within 3 weeks.
Problem I have is that is not possible this time as the apartment complex is fully booked out this semester so looks like I have 2 choice - move back into my parents and move back in next semester and ask for a different room, or put up with it for 4 months and reapply for university accommodation early and ask for a different room next semester.
Thinking about reporting the incidents in a diary, and when I have enough evidence, report it to the office.
Anyone have any advice, or other stories similar they wish to share?
