it'll take a hell of bad run with injury to keep them out of the eight- and North always seems to be dead lucky in that department. Those writing them off already ought to have their lobotomy scars checked for leaks, i reckon.

I think they will still make the top 4 easily, didn't they lose 3 out of their first 4 last year, they are the kind of team that will win 10 games in a row, so don't worry NM fans, you'll be there in September. But you may have troublle winning Dan24's precious award (no offence Dan24, I see your point and do agree with a lot of them)

I've been saying on this and other forums that the "paper-only" premiers are in decline. But to suggest they won't finish top 4 is probably just plain stupid.

The only way they'll miss the 8 is to have chronic key player injury year (like Adelaide in 99 and Essendon 94 & 98).

They are still tougher and more skilled that 90-95% of the sides going around.

But if you hit em hard - they don't like it.

The Kangaroos not to make the eight, didn't West Coast give Essendon a hiding in the early stages of last year.

I think some teams peak a lot earlier then others, and you don't win PREMIERSHIPS in March.

Yes the Bombers are looking good but let's remember the Roos won the final last year after Essendon's insipid performance against Carlton. I'd say any team that can put in such a pathetic performance the week before the Grand Final has a BIG question mark over it.

Don't get too cocky Bombers - you may yet end up with egg all over your face ... again.

Can't stand the Red Devils (as you probably know) but as Arsenal are having a shite year its down to Leeds to knock them off.

The Net is a godsend for UK-based AFL fans - the TV coverage is woeful (and I've got the full Sky Digital Pack - 100+ shite channels)

The Net provides:

With all that, you can pretty much keep up. I've been here since July 97 so I'd struggle otherwise.

Its a little annoying when missing out on recent info though (eg: I didn't find out until too late that Carey was injured this week and couldn't remove him from my Fantasy Footy Squad - still got 1927 for the round but that would have been 2000+ if I'd played Tarrant).

Jeez - I'm sounding like an Anorak - better go and do some work!
