It's pretty much a done deal he gets to Brisbane. We are going to trade our two first round picks for Carltons pick 8, which will be passed onto Adelaide for Laird.

"Carlton is set to have Pick 8 in the upcoming draft, thanks to its trade with Adelaide, and could use this to obtain two picks in the back end of the first round. Those picks could then be used to deal for Papley and Martin."
It is interesting that the crows may be letting laird speak with other teams considering he has 2 more years on contract. Speculating maybe if they got a good top 10 pick as a minimum, they may well and truly have their eye on Will Gould in this draft. Or with pick 3 and 8, maybe a play for Lukosius could be in the offing with maybe an end of 1st round coming back. There really would need to be a good reason why the club would allow Laird to speak to Brisbane you would have to think and if a trade is done, it really will cost Brisbane

Brisbane don’t have two first round picks this year though?

Unless you’re referring to GC’s second round pick?

Yeah, i was referring to GC second round pick 19. Whether we trade pick 19 or future 1st, we have the tools to get the deal done.

Apprently with Smith also Jacobs gone JJ gone Betts Gone and the two crouch boys gone Greenwood gone Keath gone

we are losng $5 million in cap space

But wow with soo many contracted players going Every player in the draft will be coming to Adelaide
You will end up having a hard time paying your minimum cap spend.

This could be an opportunity to pay Jenkins or Gibbs some more money... keep them happy in the SANFL 😁

So did Daniel Rich. How have you rated his 2019 campaign?

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

As I recall it didn't take Daniel Rich until about Round 15 this year to return from his injury. Given that, what the * is your point?

Would love to have him but won't happen. Future first pick easy would hopefully get it done. By all reports there's no smoke or fire, he's staying, not interested in moving anywhere.

We don't really need him with Docherty hopefully coming back next season.

His value at minimum would be two first rnd picks (one in the top ten)

It's academic as he isn't going anywhere.

Meeting with Brissy this week.

WaynesWorld19 didn't you say that Laird was staying?

Fox Sports rumours are usually not a "done deal". I really don't think Carlton are trading pick 8 away unless Papley is off the table. They're certainly not going to get both Papley and Martin for it.

maybe Carlton trade with Brisbane for 17 & 19, then give 17 & 2020 1st for Papley and a 2nd back. Then 19 goes to GC for Martin. They easily could make it work

Is that why you didn't make the 8?

Because 'the ball was permanently in your forward half'.
You've never actually seen a Port game have you? Port do continually hold the ball in their forward half while putting in absolutely trash entries.

Your forward line must be rubbish then if they couldn’t kick a winning score
Well duh, tell us something we don't know...

You're right, we don't really need him. Especially not for what he'll cost.

His management have said he ain't leaving, so that must mean he's off to Brisbane.

Laird for Pick 8 is a good deal.
Crows could on trade Pick 8 with Keath for Pick 5.
Then on trade one of the top 5 picks and Betts/Greenwood for Lukosius.
Isn't pick 8 and Keath excessive for pick 5 without receiving anything else back. That values Keath around pick 43 which isn't correct at all.
