Yeah, my first thought was that it was a classic attempt by Hilly to lean into the classic 'Caro is shit' schtick that people love. Not quite ad hominem, but on the way. In the end she was pretty sensible, and given Ross gave such a detailed summary of events she was clearly on the money.

Tangentially, I was listening to SEN when it got released, and whilst stumbling over what to say - clearly not liking these uppity aboriginals making a mountain out of a molehill - Gerard Healy referred to Hilly as 'the leader of the gang'. Had to laugh.

With Caro, It always depends who’s involved. She’s matey with Lyon. Had it been Clarko or Craig McRae it would have been an entirely different story. Would have probably demanded sackings at the very least. She’s got plenty of form for double standards. Having said that, the right outcome was reached in this instance. Any offence from Lyon was entirely unintentional.

Not sure why Caro even bothered to run with this story. Was all handled in house over 2 weeks ago and i'm not sure who benefits out of having this info out there other than all the footy shows who can now fill a few minutes talking about it today.

Having said that, Probably best case scenario for the club that it was Caro to break the story. If it was someone else it may not have been reported with the same level of balance.

Would love to know how Caro got wind of this though. For the club I would suggest that's the bigger story here.

My thoughts exactly! Reminded me of when Ross was going for the Carlton coaching job and Carlton wanted to do their due diligence regarding the sexual harassment and Ross described it as a smear campaign

1- The use of the term ‘boy’ has been considered racist by black minorities for 100s of years.

You may be aware it dates back to the slave trades of the 1700s?

Mohammed Ali certainly reacted when Bert Newton used the term unintentionally at the Logies in the early 70s.

2- IF they had an issue with Ross saying the team required a higher degree of loyalty than ‘the brothers’, that is a stickier problem…but I don’t think he meant that literally.

3- If they thought he was being dismissive of their ‘bond’ (which I think is what their problem was) - then Ross was careless and they quite rightly set him straight.
