Oh that is a relief. In my excitement I looked on the telly guide instead of the AFL website.

So used of 7 playing the game and missing all the pre game BS.

Just noticed Friday night was Ross Lyon's 50th game in charge of Freo. Nice way to celebrate a mini-milestone.

Currently has a 69% winning ratio, which is obviously miles ahead of our next best (CC on nearly 52%).

For mine, he's doing what he was hired to do... but he's done it quite a bit better, and a lot faster, than I would have expected.

I hear people talk about "that Fremantle brand of football"... relentless attack on the man and the ball, an even team contribution, a system where each player knows what role they're expected to play, consistent effort, not relying on star players to do all the work... and only very rarely being blown out of the water.

Then I think back three or four years... and if I'd gone back in time and told my past self that these would be the perceptions associated with the "Fremantle brand", I'd have laughed in my own face. Pretty much every point above was the exact opposite in my pre-Ross perception of Freo.

Ross' arrival hasn't just delivered results. It has changed the culture as well. He's not the only bloke involved... obviously the credit for the change needs to be spread amongst a heap of others. But he's had a huge impact.
