Fair to say I'm surprised. I actually thought Harvey a good coach and desperately unlucky with injury this year. But kudos to Freo for plucking Lyons when so many sought him.

Seriously? St Kilda made 5 Grand Finals in their first 110 years in the AFL..under Lyon they made 2 in 5, not far off winning both either...

IF Lyon is the coach, he'll bring in some hardened bodies to protect our offensive players and let them do their thing.

Very harsh on Harvey, he's put our talent together and decimated by injuries this year. Lyon will reap the benefits.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Lyon at the Saints. But just because he played a purely defensive game over there, doesn't mean he will bring it over here. It's a matter of building a game plan and style around the players you have, and our list is very different to that of St Kilda.

What we will get is players playing in the right positions. And that can only be a good thing.

I imagine Lyon will adapt his game plan to include a more attacking style, because you can't switch teams and not change. So, no negatives from me.
