dont want to steal to much of Harrys thunder as i know he is the regular poster of these interviews, but apart from the disappointment of the weekend, RTB's interview was actually pretty uplifting and exciting.
few points :
- Mcpharlin has done a quad again, so will face a couple weeks on the sidelines.
- Croz and Duff stay
- pressure for spots with Tabs and Walters knocking on the door
- saved the best for last - Fyfe is ok, and so is Ballas, went into the game 100% but tightened up a bit in his back as the game progressed. sounded like both will be fine to take on Hawthorn :)
- also worth mentioning ross again acknowledged the issues with umpires and the frees paid against us

hopefully Harry sees this later and chucks up the link for the interview :)

RTB stated that Taberner is a chance to play at some stage maybe not this week .
Playing 2 ruckmen may change but we will look at it .
Mora may get another game this year . Apeness is on our radar .
This is al about next year guys not this season .
We will go with who's the best match up on the day nothing more nothing less .
I love the way RTB thinks about how the team is going and how he plans for each game .
We need to play the rest of the season like we did in the last quarter against Geelong .
Crozier has speed as does Hill ,these are the type of players that will get us to the Grand final .
Silvagni is another player that can help us get there as well.

I love his comments about Mora. After getting a bit defensive for a while when everyone was asking him at any opportunity when Mora was going to debut its nice to hear Ross put it on the record how highly he rates Mora.

The most interesting thing I heard is I reckon he's got his eyes on Clarke quite frankly.

- Mentioned that Duffy and Crozier need to stay in (personally I thought that Duffy might be forced out with Walters)
- Noted that biggest issue on Sat was positioning of fwd players, implied that Croz and Duffy was part of that, but seemed to also say that it was the whole fwd play.
- Made passing comment that 'pressure is on' and players who don't perform would be out, answered in relation to Walters.
- Made another passing comment that having 2 rucks might be a bit of a luxury while talking up Tabs once again (which he has done most of the year of course).

So my conclusion with all that, and reading my own thoughts in of course, is that Clarke might be in the gun either for Walters or even Tabs.

Tabs for Clarke is a bridge too far for me. Problem is Clarke is a good ruckman but a shit forward, whereas Tabs is a reasonable forward but cannot pinch hit in the ruck. Tabs also lacks size and gets rag dolled too easily in contests. He'll run all day and present, but he's not yet developed enough to stand his ground.

What I was particularly chuffed about in this segment:

- Very positive about Croz and Duffy - amazing that he is backing his young players in at such a crucial time in the season. Because. Ross. Lyon. Does. Not. Play. Youf.

- finally a comment alluding to the free kick differential and how we have been getting "the rough end of the stick." Also his comment about Crowley "takes much more than he dishes out" and how he has a right to be protected same as any other player. I wonder what he means about "we're taking responsibility."

- loved the little dig in the end about how Mundy got gypped by a few meters. He puts the onus on how Mundy should've marked his spot before turning around and setting up, but it still felt like a parting shot to the maggots to me.

This segment is such good value!

Footy classified hilighted that RTB put umpiring consistency on the agenda.

However they did not give example of any decision ross may have meant so clearly the show didn't want to agree with him  or plain didn't..:thumbsdown:

Still. I'm glad RTB is giving the AFL some indirect please explain in the media.

Coulda I like how you sneaked in your own love of Silva pretending Ross mentioning him as a player that would help us to the GF:D

Great interview, must say I'm surprised with the Tab-Love as I haven't rated him all year. With that said I was extremely cynical when Croz got called up last week and now I think he's Fyfe's-apprentice.

I think it was more about the fact there were only 10 free kicks paid in the second half versus the 30+ paid in the first half. Someone in the umpiring dept had a word at half time.

Ross is obviously seeing something that I'm not. I'm not sure what Taberner has going for him to be honest. I want him to at least start showing a bit of mongrel.

he is fit enough to play a zone and also happens to be tall. I believe thats the long and short of it.

With Ross suggesting that Mora will get another game I feel certain he is planning another mass rest if we win against the Hawks and the Lions. Can't see Mora getting selected for Finals now so he would only be getting a game to cover for someone with 'general soreness'.
I don't get that vibe at all. The club had a bye like 2 weeks ago! Why would half the team need a break?!

These last three games are must win, there will not be any resting of players this season.

I agree - clearly he has a huge tank and runs all day, but I can't recall him winning a 1 on 1 contest. He has the potential I think, just needs to show it AFL level.

The team would be running off a pair of six day breaks going into the most important game of the season.

We need to win the first week of the finals.

We finish 4th if we win this week and next week. If Port lose any games between now and playing us we finish 4th.

Do you see Mora in currently as a best 22 player? I don't and I don't think RTB does either. So the only way he gets that extra game Ross was talking about is if we rest a best 22 player.

Whether that turns into a mass resting who knows. And you're right these last three games are super important, really don't want to lose any of them.

Supersub.

We need someone who can a) draw a tagger away from Pav b) make sure that the ball gets to ground and is not marked by a HT type c) clunk a couple and kick a goal. And yes that is the order I have them in. With Duffy, Crozier, Balla and Walters as forwards plus the ability of Fyfe, Neale and Gu to pinch a goal we are one of the most dangerous teams when the ball hits the ground inside the attacking 50.

Unless one of Sydney, Hawthorne or Geelong loose two of their remaining season matches we can't overtake any of them. Two wins will see us finish 4 but three wins may not take us any higher. Given that I would rather gets some rest into the boys and a chance to get over any niggles before the finals start.

Ditto. I certainly had my eyes on Clarke while watching the game. Was pretty p*ssed off with his performance... kept letting his man lead him to the ball, resulting in forward half turnovers. Wasn't chasing hard enough when the ball was turned over. Didn't take advantage of the fact that he was rucking against a middle-distance runner.

Would be interested to see how we go with just Sandi in the ruck, and have someone like Tabs try to make a contest with one of our mids going third man up. For mine, Clarke hasn't been earning his keep. Needs to get the hunger back. Very happy that Ross is examining whether having Clarke in the team is a luxury we can't afford.

Hayden Kennedy was at the game I think he said. I think he said something along the lines of... Hayden was at the game, and had a talk to the umpires after half time.

10-25 in the first half.
4-6 in the second.

Huge difference.
