What happens if you get injuries in the last few minutes and you have hit your cap? Do you have to play with less than 18?

Send out a message that if anybody wants to come off, they have to get a head knock and lay on the turf OR they have to bleed noticeably.

You don't get to 90 so it's not an issue.

I wonder if any ruckman will rest loose in defence where they could use they marking skills to help rebound. Could imagine the more defensive coaches doing this

I just wonder which coach will be the first to call for the sub back when they lose a player early and lose a game.
If Malthouse was still coach it would have happened after the first game

Lol runners running around with pocket knives cutting players so they can come off.

Like old school WWE. Razor blade in the strapping.

Don't laugh. There was a case in Rugby in the UK a few years ago (Saracens?) where players used fake-blood capsules to force a change.

I have noticed in the last season or two that there have been major swings in momentum in games and wondered if this had to do with teams using more or fewer rotations during different parts of the game, rather than spreading them out evenly.

I think the resting ruckman role has certainly made a comeback. We'll probably see a few mids resting up forward as well.

Not having a sub will have an impact, though.

Wait for the coaches to call for the rules to return to 2010...no limit on rotations. Why the AFL have to **** everything no-one will ever know.

But no limit on rotations was the worst option in terms of unfairness following a game-ending injury.

After he drove up rotations in the first place. And then complained when the sub came in (which helped).

Which game will have "rotation-gate 2016"? It's bound to happen.

I reckon with some players, their individual players' possession counts wont' be as high as in the past as they will be too fatigued to run around for non-contested ones and cheapies from ruck men! (for the ultra fit - it would get higher)

players might actually just hold true aussie rules positions, rather than just have 30 players following the ball everywhere all the time.

Would be great to see both teams use up all of their rotations with 10 minutes left in the last quarter, and watch some 1 on 1 battles due to fatigue.

It would be interesting to see past KMs run break downs of different clubs and zones.

Guys there is an extra player on the bench, so it actually means more bench time is available.
