The 2 Standout KPP of this years draft, also both bottom age!

If you had to pick between either of these two on draft day who would you choose?

Franklin has better ability but Roughead's footy smarts, would beat him for me. I would prefer if Hawthorn took Roughead over Franklin, however it is unlikely they will both still be available with pick 5.

Thoughts?

Personally I do not have a preference, I would be happy to see either Franklin or Roughead at the club next year, I am maybe leaning towards Franklin because of the reports i've heard of the player he is, but this is ever so slightly!

hard to say. i think if i were a vic club i would take roughead. franklin is far from a sure thing, his temprement is very so-so, and im not sure how he would handle the pressure if things didnt start going his way. roughead, athough not as naturally gifted is a much safer bet. franklin could be a star, but also has the potential to be quite a big bust from what i have seen of him here in WA.

I would much prefer Roughead for a couple of reasons...

1 - The "go home factor" because Franklin is from WA, and is a possibility to go home ala what McPharlin did to us a couple of years back.
2 - Franklin has the habit of cracking "the Richos" when things don't go his way, and then he seems to get very disinterested in the game... we have enough attitudes to deal with, don't need him too!!

This topic is stupid. Buddy Franklin is gonna be a superstar and if you'd seriously take Roughy first then you have problems.

Luke McPharlin walking out on us to go home will always be at the back of Hawthorn supports minds

I am sure Bucky and co have seen enough of franklin to asses where he is at, so will be happy with who ever we pick.

That would mean one of Deledio, Tambling or Griffen would then still be available at 5, and we'd be crazy not to take the one remaining - win situation for us...pick up Willits with 7, and a ruckman with 21 (probably not Wood or Deluca) or pick one up in the PSD.

Mate, Willits is an overated HACK JOB! The Hawks won't waste pick 7 on him just because his body is ready to play AFL! They'd be more inclined to draft someone like Bate with pick 7 because he is already a gun (Morrish Medalist)and has so much scope for improvement!

I'd rather the Hawks take one of Deledio/Tambling/Griffen with Pick 2, Roughead/Franklin with Pick5, and Bate/Wood with Pick 7, then take a Kirkby with Pick 21, and with Pick 26 take a midfielder like Andrew McQualter, then for Pick 53 it's time for a gamble, Jack Juniper sounds like the man for the job there!

Buddy Franklin will most probably go back to W.A after he has established his career. Not worth Hawthorn taking him. Also pulls a Richo every so often.
That is all.

Everyone talks about franklin as tho they have played with him every week. Anyone got any evidence they would like to share
Dont hold your breath sinepari waiting for a response because most of those commenting on Franklin haven't got a clue what they're talking about.

Franklin has more Flair. More potential to be an outrageously good player. What Essendon needs more than Roughead in my opinion, however we wont get near either.

you know its funny, Jarryd Roughead has exactly that - a rough head judging by the photo I just saw of him....with a name like that I want him at our footy club - one of the all time great names in footy

the other bloke I want on the basis of a great name is Jack Juniper (never heard of him until I read this thread) sounds like he should be a Private-eye though
