Many emotional calls to SEN after Roughs presser - the guy is just so loved and I’m so glad that he has this opportunity this week to be acknowledged by all those who love him.

What a wonderful career

If Lewis also announces his retirement this week (last Dees game in Melbourne this Friday), I wouldn't be against Jordy doing a lap ahead of the game sunday. He was a warrior for us for many years and while his departure was messy, we shouldn’t forget what came before.
Would love it if Buddy and Jordy were the ones to carry him off

We would crack 40K no probs @ MCG, maybe 50K in a good timeslot. I predict around 28K.

Hawthorn ‘home’ games at Docklands since 2006

2018 - 28,077 v West Coast
2017 - 48,090 v W Bulldogs
2015 - 28,657 v Port Adelaide
2013 - 32,567 v West Coast

Average Hawthorn home and away crowd at Docklands since 2000 is 36,683 (39,000 since 2006)

Better start familiarising ourselves with Docklands as we’ll probably have 5 games there once we are kicked out of Tasmania

Any of those @ 4.40pm Sunday v a team with zero supporters? This would have been 12k - 14k if no Rough.

Agreed, my point is we better get used to Docklands as soon enough we will have a whole heap more of them.

Our crowds at Docklands haven’t been too bad anyway and our record at the ground has by and large been pretty good (this year aside) so perhaps it’s not the worst thing in the world

1997 Waverley park v Freo r15 (sat) 15,939
1998 Waverley park v Freo r22 (sat) 39,735
1999 Waverley park v Freo r18 (sun) 13,941

1998 Dunstalls last game

average v Gold Coast at MCG 26k. No docklands fixtures so far but 23k at 4:40 on an august sunday

Id say 35k plus, due to docklands capacity constraint

Everyone loves the rough. Footballers are generally treated with reverence on and off the field but what changes this for Rough in a sense was his battle with cancer. Its all so subtle reminder that footballers are humans and brought the whole footy community together as he fought and won. To fight so hard then to come back and play AFL footy afterwards was a monumental achievement. It has taken a lot out of the big fella.

To further enhance his memory he has been coaching his opponents on field in last part of his career.

Rough you are a champion on and off the field and we will miss you

Signing off with...

All you need is Rough Rough… All you need is Rough
