The difference between Vardy and Porps of course is that Vardy did it in crunch time. Big time finals performer.

That's not to say Porps wouldn't.

Vardy was one of the best clutch goalkickers we ever had.

Interesting to notice Jack Watts was dropped by the Dees.

Just saying but it looks like Neil Craig has struck again.

Fair call. I still don't see any reason why this is a problem though. 3 on the field, 1 rotating through the bench.

I'm not sure having a small defender on the bench is a luxury we can afford, especially with the sub rule. I guess Doughty could come on as a sub if we swing Johncock or Jaensch forward in the second half. It's also worth remembering that Petrenko is capable of playing down back if injuries occur (ie. vs Essendon last year).

They're all best 22 players but I still think having all of them would hurt our balance/team structure. The Australian cricket team has a plethora of quality fast bowlers and mediocre batting depth but you don't see us picking a side filled with just bowlers. I'd rather the final spot go to another midfielder.

What did Neil Craig have to do with Melbourne recruiting a dud at pick no 1?

LOL he's not a dud.

He played some very good football last year, finishing 9th in their B&F last year in a side that finished above us and flogged us.

Oh so once again, we're only aloud to bag players you dislike?

Richard Douglas is a walk up start, like it or not.

We are in it to win it. Let's not sit here and say that was a good win and will do for the season. That is not what we are on about as a club.

We'll learn from that. This will be an opportunity to move forward with our structures.

Watts is a 20 year old KPP, you can't call him a failure just yet. He has at least three years before we can write him off. Hell, Tippett is 25 this year and is yet to break out according to some.

I do think that the expectation that Jack Watts will become a gorilla forward at the focal point of attack is misplaced, at best he will a second/third forward, winger or perhaps even third tall in defence.
