I don't like it.
I originally had Smith and Tambling in there, but it just isnt likely that Douglas, Doughty and Reilly wont be there round 1.

For what its worth this is my side

Porps Walker Callinan
Knights Tipp Vince
VB Thomo Mckay
Jaensch Talia Pets
Johncock Rutten Otten

Ruck: Jacobs Danger Sloane

Bench: Smith, Tambling, Johnston, S/Brown

Gotta say I don't have the same confidence in Porps body as the rest of you.

Amazing player, but one wrong tackle away from the end of his career.

At least we have not recruited him at 700k a year for 4 years:thumbsu:

Could be the best trade since Mcleod, got us young Crouch;)

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else but Channel Ten sport last night said that our Round 1 game will be away to North Melbourne.

Left Wright Out?

Im here all week guys!

But seriously, hard to fit him in, he is an attacking mid. Possibly in for Brown or Tambling with Knights going more into the midfield and Wright taking his spot.

If used properly he is a ball magnet that uses the ball well. Round 1 is a chance to prove that last year was due to injury.

You two are stuck in 2009. He's been crap for two years.
I have no illusions of what he has produced since 2009. The same with the team in general, does that mean he is a front runner? Possibly.

Mckay, Vince and Knights are key to our improvment this year. If they can reach previous heights and possibly improve on them we will be a much better side for it. Possibly Douglas, but even in his B&F year he wasn't great.

I think we get too excited about the brief purple patch he had in 2009.

And it was brief, in the context of his whole career.

I'm not expecting him to go back to being "arguably our most important player" as he was back then.

However, even without that purple patch he's a very handy player. I think people underestimated him in his early years as a midfielder, too.

Notable that you've put Vince and Mackay with Knights. I read the posts prior to yours earlier and I was going to post this:

With Kerr from West Coast, didnt he have a bad injury in 2009, then came back played a fair few games in 2010 with the odd niggle injury but was no where near his previous self and then got back to his best in 2011 - helping WCE with their rise from bottom to 4th.

I hope the same thing happens with Vince and Knights who are in a similar situation, they should be due for a good yr, Mackay is in the same boat but a bit less so........

:thumbsu:Love it. i think with the right coaching, mindset and some confidence tambling could be good forward.
