Only 8 days until the season opener.

Can we pull off an unlikely victory in enemy territory?

Question marks over Gunston and Howe along with the other notable absentees are going to make things tough.

There is generally 2 or 3 suprising results in Round 1 so who knows.

All things vs the crow eaters in here.

Considering our recent history at Adelaide Oval I'm not prepared to call it an unlikely Victory because it's statistically very likely :p

That being said, Adelaide are a strong outfit when they have their best 22 out there and how we compete against them will be a great measuring stick for our 2019 season.

We can win this, their forward line is over rated and the midfield.shallow but will need to deal with their speed out of defence.

The Crows midfield is actually quite good; B.Crouch, M.Crouch, Sloane, Atkins, Gibbs and Douglas.

Without Mitchell, Scully and Wingard we are paper thin for midfield rotations. It’s time for Cousins and Worpel to step up and help fill the void.

This is what I want to see...

B: Stratton, Frawley, Hardwick

HB: Scrimshaw, Brand, Sicily

C: Henderson, Shiels, Smith

HF: Impey, Gunston, Burgoyne

F: Breust, Roughead, Puopolo

R: McEvoy, O’Meara, Worpel

INT: Cousins, Ceglar, Morrison, Minchington

Agree with everything except Michington.

If Howe is fit he plays instead if not Hanrahan.

Clarko has already ruled Howe out for round 1.

I think Moore will debut over Oli. One of the two will almost certainly play with Wingard out.

I can't wait for the game. But it's a very tough task as I don't think many teams are going to get a win in Adelaide this year. It's going to be a massive test for our midfield.

The problem with Adelaide's midfield last year was predominately getting them on the park. They look in pretty good order for round 1 2019 though.

Gonna be a tough challenge with our depth tested early in the season.

FYI - this is a foxtel only game for those that it affects

I agree. By comparison our starting midfield is competitive but doesn't have the rotation strength. It's harder to deal with that now with defenders not being able to come off the back of the square. Think this is the area where we'll get hurt. Maybe burgers or roughy can turn back the clock for a short stint in the middle?

Hearing Scully & Wingard participating in 18v18 match simulation today.

Wingard on track to play Rd 3.

Scully on track to play VFL Rd 2/3.

Gunston more unlikely than likely to play rd 1.

Mitchell a massive chance to return later in the season (Rd 18ish). This will be de dependent on how we’re tracking.
