He's super exciting. I hope he makes it for no reason other than wanting to shout BEDENDOOOOOOO at the footy
What do you reckons high level? Social Club?Next to zero chance of getting a ticket to round one unless you have high level membership
Pies home game they will get the vast majority of tickets
anyone able to paste the article? Apparently includes a breakdown of tickets for round 1 against Collingwood

Yes I pissed off not with the dogs or with the AFL that DH Dan he comes out like getting 50% is fantastic where in fact it is crap. Ok I know a lot of worst things happened because of his government stuff ups 800 plus deaths, small business going broke and people losing their jobs. However from a football sense because of his stuff ups we did not see a game last season. We can have 75% in a closed office confinement where it is said the virus is about 10 times more infectious yet we can only have 50% at open air event give me a break. The NFL GF under Gladys had near full capacity last season. I am afraid as a Victorian and a bulldogs supporter this years membership is just going to be another donation.
Thought it was Jenny who had the gold standard. Is this another part of history rewritten is it.Dans Gold standard mate
You’ve broke out into a rant because only 5000 dogs fans will be able to go to a game that only 4000 dogs fans would usually go to in an non covid season.
Take it to whatever our politics thread is mate.
Or give me a call if you are so keen to chat crap.

Whut!?
I signed up with a standard membership and we get entry into a bunch of extra games!
How about you start being harder on our OWN SUPPORTERS who after 61 F-ING years of winning nothing and then watching their team finally break through STILL CAN'T COMMIT TO REGULARLY TURNING UP to a game EVERY TWO WEEKS FFS!!!!
And seriously if you're going to sook about restrictions then maybe you should head over to t
England where they've done such a great job and have just had the worst economic downturn in 300 F-ing years.
Sorry but I'm just totally fed up with sooks and moaners (as you can tell).
Everyone to their own opinion. As I said I have nothing against the club and the AFL. It is Dan who is the drivers seat. I would have thought a fairer comparison would have been how Victoria has fared against NSW we just do not stack up rather than quoting a country thousand of klms away.
I was not sooking or moaning just stating facts that is does not add up allowing 75% indoors and only 50% outdoors when Victoria's CHO has stated the virus is 10 times less infectious outdoors.

Understand but people continue to go on about this like Dan is the one who ate the frigging bat in Wuhan.
Is Dan perfect? No
Have he/the government/s (both state and federal) made mistakes? Definitely
Am I grateful to be living here, having all of the opportunities we do and to go on living a relatively normal life? Extremely
If all we've got to worry about is missing a couple of games of footy then life's pretty good is it not?
A couple is fine. Another whole season due to government failure and I’ll go rogue.
Unfortunately most of us compare to other states and right now NSW is taking the absolute pi** out of us.
If somebody in the office tests positive they might have somewhere between say 10 and a 100 contacts who need to be chased up. That can of course multiply quickly if you have to get to their own close contacts as well but at least it's something the public health workers have a chance of staying on top of.Yes I pissed off not with the dogs or with the AFL that DH Dan he comes out like getting 50% is fantastic where in fact it is crap. However if someone who was at the MCG along with 70,000 others happens to test positive ... where do you start? How do you contact 70,000 people and their respective close contacts? Even if you divide the place up into stands or bays we're still talking thousands in each area. You might even have access to the names and phone numbers of all ticket holders but with that volume of potential contacts it's nearly impossible because contact has to be made quickly if contact tracing is going to be effective. You can ask people to self-identify ("anyone who was at the MCG last night") and self-isolate but with that many people it can't be enforced so it's just not going to happen. The more likely response is another city-wide or state-wide lockdown.
Last year this was one of the reasons behind trying to constrain numbers at large gatherings whether indoors or outdoors. It's not just about which environment is more conducive to transmission. It's also about being able to do effective contact tracing.
Anyway footy at the MCG is not a true "open air" event. Yes aerosols are probably more likely to disperse meaning lower risk of transmission but it does not eliminate risk. And sports stadiums have choke points where people are simply not going to stand 1.5m apart - entry gates, stairs, toilets, aisles, bars, food outlets, etc. This can be regulated to some extent if there's only 50% capacity but if you go to 75% or 100% it becomes very much harder. If you've ever been to the 'G when there are 75,000 or more people you'll know the place is just heaving and sustained physical distancing is impossible.
Possibly another reason for the different percentages is that getting more people back at the office is better for business and employment than getting more people to the footy. So if you're going to take some chances which area do you reckon is better to venture first - economic recovery or footy?
If a bunch of cases do emerge from an AFL game and as a result all of Melbourne has to go into lockdown again I'm pretty sure I know who'll get blamed.
I'll be interested to know if the vaccine rollout (by the time the elderly and vulnerable are done) would let Dan go to a 100% crowd, particularly now we know it almost eliminates transmissionYour post like always is respectful and analytical.
My point was that 50% crowds is not something to celebrate and will prevent a lot of footy supporters from going to the footy. Bad enough for Bulldog supporters even worst for supporters of the bigger clubs. I questioned the fact it is only 50% at the footy stating 75% can go to work in offices. You have expressed your views using the G with 70,000 as an example. I agree with most you have said but not all.
If you have 75% in the city offices it is likely that if one person is infectious they would attend work for 4 to 5 days before knowing they have the virus possibly travelling on public transport (with a mask), lifts and mingling in the city as well as working indoors. So I would argue that one person attending work regularly is more of a risk than someone attending the footy for a couple hours. I am in no way questioning 75% in offices just using a comparison and recognise the economic impact compared to footy.
We have just had the tennis with up to 50% to a session and it will be another 4 to 5 weeks to footy starts with no cases. The bigger risk was allowing so many players and support staff from overseas may would argue this a bigger risk than 75% at the footy.
We had the cricket; ok with only 30,000 crowds however there was an infectious person attend the G without any spread of the virus.
We now have the vaccine and by time the footy starts a large % of people at most risk will have been vaccinated .
Yes everything is a calculated risk but for the reasons above I hope and believe with no community cases even Dan will go to 60% by start of the season and hope for more.
Your point is valid but I agree with Bro_Pro ... it's time to take any further discussion to the Covid-19 thread. For those people who can't resist constantly knocking 'Dictator Dan' for multiple coronavirus "stuffups", I say no more than simply refer to this website on a daily basis and get a sense of perspective.
