All you North sickos laugh but big dick Frosty would be your best defender.

He's also the best defender in the afl so that's pretty obvious

* off idiot..

Not even the best defender in his family

Had a few beers after work tonight. Chatting with a few mates. One is a Crows supporter & he’s booked flights to Melbourne the same weekend I just have. Round 2. *im sure there’s a fixture thread, but I’m half cut.
Anyway, he said the North Vs West Coast game has been moved to Tassie (with several others) is this true?!

Had a coffee this morning. No it's not true.

This is how I’m expecting us to line up round 1 (as long as it’s not wet)…

FB - Turner - McKay - Ziebell
HB - J.Walker - Corr - Hall

C - Powell - Simpkin - Stephenson
FOL - Goldstein - Greenwood - Davies-Uniacke

HF - Thomas - Coleman-Jones - Horne-Francis
FF - Mahoney - Larkey - Zurhaar

IC - Phillips - Comben - Mcdonald - Perez

EMG - Taylor - Bonar - Ford

Key matchups in the back half… McKay to Lewis, Corr to Gunston, J.Walker to Kozi, Turner to Wingard, McDonald to Breust

I believe Comben will play down back early on...

I could be wrong, but if he was playing back he would be training solely down back, considering he has never played there. I don’t necessarily think the way he plays is suited down back either.

During training he is playing 50 / 50 down back and up forward.

Any mail on that, or more just a sense?
The way I see it.
We will most likely take one of Comben or Josh Walker on the bench as KPP back up. (I cant see us playing 6kpp's + Goldy. with a young midfield that bench spot is better taken up by a mid rotation.)
Walker would be the better defender most probably.
Comben the better forward.
My vote would be for Comben if he shows anything as a defender in the Ansett cup.

I know that was mentioned in a throw away Herald Sun clipping.

But I personally haven't seen Comben play down back in any match sim yet.
In the interview he also said that he's looking forward to forming a good combination with Souv and CCJ this year. Unless we're sending our best goalkicker down back, it indicates Charlie's playing forward.

He's a prototypical AFL CHF.

He will spend most of his time between the arcs and we will finally have a get out option other than Goldstein long down the line.

Personally I think this is why getting Tom Lynch in is such a great move.

The thing I really noticed about Lynch at the Crows was how effective he was at linking their transition from the backline. He really made it work and it will be fantastic for us if he can impart some of that understanding to Comben.

I'd argue that's the most important aspect of the game right now, coz get it wrong and teams are set up to slingshot back past you and goal.

Gonna be refreshing going to the MCG to watch the team play.

Whoever I go with hopefully we remember to get off at Richmond. Because I'm sure some here are guilty of doing this (because of the too few games we get at the MCG) of staying on the train going on to Flinders/Southern Cross.

Train slowly moving away and you're thinking to yourself why have all the north supporters gotten off the train?

Oh s**t....
