Just about to turn 21 and his body can't even handle the rigors of pre-season. That's another top 15 pick burned.

Nothing like going slightly early, eh?

Nearly at break glass for Petruccelle stage already.

I hope it’s Gross even if he didn’t play any of the 3 main trials.

This looks about right

I do think it’s still a coin toss between Jack Williams and Archer Reid but like you I’d lean towards Jack

Petruccelle an option for the sub role which would give Gross the opportunity to play a full game in the WAFL scratch match and also avoid debuting a guy as the sub which I don’t like

Minor point - I heard somewhere a while ago that Cole likes starting on the bench, so watched him a few games to see if there was any truth to it. He legit goes to the bench to start every game - so Cole on the bench and Allan into the starting 18

Hewett dead gives Cripps a free run into the round 1 side I reckon 😢

Owies, Brockman and Long should all probably make the cut now as well, definitely with Ryan not playing.

Other than a couple talls, I reckon that practice game side is gonna be pretty well spot on.

As usual, midfield is quite bland bar Reid IMO. Fold Coast clamp him and we've got the vanilla sandwich of Duggan, Graham and Kelly trying to stop Rowell, Anderson, Miller, Flanders, and whatever new academy shiny toy they roll through.

B: Hough Hedward Ginbey
HB: Baker Gov Duggan
C: Hunt Graham Hutch
HF: Brockman Oallen Long
FF: Owies Waterman Cripps
R: Flynn Reid Kelly

Bench: Maric Ballan Dewar Jilliams

Sub: Cole (can move Baker, Maric, Ginbey or Duggan up the ground)

Have I missed anyone obvious?

Hoping Hutch can provide something as a mid.

I would go with Flynn as the lead ruck and then the backup has to be out of Jwilliams , Reid or Bwilliams.

Only one of those three back ups has proven any nous at hitting the scoreboard which given our lack of scoring opportunity cannot be overlooked.

I think we will be happy to concede in the ruck and pressure the footy to generate opportunities, so Baz or Reid are less likely to get a look in over Jilliams if the thought is they're superior in the ruck (not even sure that argument could be made)

It will be interesting to see how M Andrew's chest injury will affect the GCS. I assume the injury is minor. He played very well in our last meeting.

I can never take posters who reckon we have enough elite midfielders seriously.

If Hewett has had "general soreness" then a phantom quad injury before even playing a game..

👀

Let's not forget he randomly crumbled and rolled his ankle right before bouncedown in the WAFL like he'd been snipered, leaving the Beagles to go on and get flogged by 20 goals.

With great BSD comes many innocuous injuries unfortunately.

Jack williams has forward craft and in the ruck competes well and can hold down the position when the main ruck rests. Exact player we’ve been wanting. Archer is exciting but horribly inaccurate and even tho he is 4-5cm his ruck work is more unproven.

Huge reason I chose Williams this season is because I genuinely think him and Ginbey are the two kids that will have that breakout year this year. Forwardline this year isn’t stacked and Flynn rucking means we’ll see him spend more minutes up forward

As a fellow BSD my body is also quite fragile.

Should we be worried that match committee had B Will over J Will vs North? If you watched any footage from last year you can see that the clear option for back up ruck/fwd is Jack. Archer Reid showing good flashes, but needs more minutes in the WAFL for mine.

B Will is as athletic as anyone, he gets into the right areas and competes, but still drops marks and misses kicks/HB. The real basics of the game he still needs to iron out. I believe he can get there, but J Will is already doing those things.

Eagles are posting live training clips on their Instagram page and Hewett's looking pretty good from the clips. One with the ball in his hands taking on tacklers in a close in tackling drill and in another clips he's standing tackling Flynn. Looks pretty raring to go, to me

Yeah Hewy looks fine. I still think there's a chance they pull him back from the GC game but it will be precautionary.

Dry those sheets off, posters.
