anything from the first weekend of Round 1 making you want to trade before UNLIMITED trades says its goodbye?

I'm liking Langdon's job security and scoring potential, so I'll be downgrading either Webster or McDonald to somebody like Fuller (won't play rd1 but should be good later on in the season) and playing Langdon at D6 (taking his 111 this week in the process ;))

Rohan is my forward emergency, so if he does something similar to Langdon, I'll look to downgrade Caddy/Higgins and play him at F6 :thumbsu:

money to spend elsewhere before next weekend :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I'm going to downgrade Webster to Robertson and pocket the 18k...

That'll give me options of Georgiou or Langford for Langdon if he manages to repeat that performance..

anyone considering cutting a midprice/premium to up the rookies in the back half? i have Laidler, McDonald as D5,D6, Langdon at D7 tempted to go with 3-0-3 defence now and take a no rookie forwardline.

How to Webster to Robertson only get you 18k?

I'm holding fire on any major changes till I see the rest of round one.

Sorry, not Webster, Dunstan... Same club lol..

yeah it's pretty tempting, I'm considering getting rid of DSwallow instead of McDonald/Webster

Not just chasing points but with Langdon showing he's js is probably now very strong and a capable scorer would it be suffice to trade a suckling > rookie thus moving Langdon to d6 then upgrading a caddy > a premium?

Yeah originally had mcveigh Mitchell hibberd Hanley sucking Luke mc (lang lang) now thinking move suckling to a fuller/Georgie as mentioned earlier using lang as d6 mmm

McD is my D6, Langford and Georgiou on the bench.. I have 3k in the bank and need to find 12k so that I have enough money to change Georgiou to Langdon after Round 2 if he repeats his performance..

Options:
  1. Dunstan to Robertson
  2. Rohan to McDonut
  3. Do nothing and swap McD to Langdon
Pros:
  1. There aren't too many except that Robertson arguably has more support at Brissy.
  2. Rohan won't average more than 60 for the year and McDonut could be anything
  3. I bank 70k immediately and by Round 4 Langdon may well he worth 182k himself anyway. Also means one less Round 8 player, and it gives me 70k to move Georgiou to any potential defensive rookie that appears in the first two rounds.
Cons:
  1. I lose Dunstan. Feel his value will be higher than Robbo
  2. McDonut is a high chance to get the vest tonight. Sydney play before Richmond. FML.
  3. I lose McDonald

I am starting to lean towards option 3 IF Langdon continues in the way he started. If I get Langy through the other options, McD just sits on my bench anyway. It allows me to have Langdon/Dunstan/Rohan/Georgiou (or any rookie that pops up under 200k) generating cash instead of either McD/Lang/McDonut/Dunstan or McD/Lang/Rohan/Robertson

What are people's thoughts?? (Typing that on a iPad was a pain in the ass ;))

Rohan to Mcdonough.
I agree that Rohan won't average above more than 60, nor will he grow too much in Cash. McDonough will most likely start with the vest for the first few games, but from what I've heard will play a lot. Last year Richmond did the same with Vlastuin, he started as a sub his first 2 games, but went ballistic after that. Lets just hope that Mcdonough does the same.
Now someone please answer my question, I have seriously no idea what to do.
Should I get Langford, Liberatore and Impey or Suckling, Tyson and Higgins?
While I'm at it Liberatore vs Cotchin vs Watson and Suckling vs Webster vs Pittard?

I'm not sure why everyone is changing their structure based on one game

I think because a viable rookie option that was not there before has presented itself. One that will hopefully generate a bunch of cash.

Some people will try to revert to a more GNR strategy than relying on midpricers.

Along the same lines as other posts here. Strongly considering going

Simpson >>> Laidler
Hickey >>> Goldstein / Minson

Then Round 2 run a combo of Suckling, Mcdonald, Langdon, Laidler D4-D6. Still having 3 premo's D1-D3. Langdon's JS stocks have gone through the roof!

Premium / Sandilands would look really nice on paper at this point.

Your team should have been finalised yesterday. If you're unsure of that many players once the round has started, you're in big trouble.

Only changes being considered should be corrective rookie misses.

Looking at other teams 5 mid premiums seems like one too many. Plus Webster and Higgins will average more plus may possibly generate as much cash as Langford and Impey. The only thing that is stopping me is Libba would probably stay in my team all year, so one less trade used

not changing structure, it's rookie for a rookie
Langdon has that spot locked and he looks good to score more than Webster and McDonald (from preseason matches and from last night)

the cash from trading out Webster/McDonald to another rookie has allowed me to get TMitchell in over Zorko :thumbsu:, a move I was 10k short of
rest of the cash in the bank :thumbsu:
(and I don't have to settle for Zorko :D)

If you missed the Langdon boat, and he does put up decent performance in week 2 (80+), i would be inclined to assess non-rookie players in your squad and make necessary corrections. ie. Franklin puts up 2 average scores, downgrade to Tmitchell, upgrade Georgiou to Langdon.

I think McD is required to fill a D6 spot for most of the year. Dunstan looks to be given every opportunity to play full games, given the situation down at St Kilda. For me, having good bench scoring options is vital for bringing under performing premiums early.

I'm still deciding how i should take advantage of Langdon's emergency score. I see people are thinking of bringing in Fuller, for 'potential' games in the future, but I see it as a missed opportunity for a downgrade option. Currently have Langdon and Langford (D7,D8), and predicting they will play every game til Bye's and hopefully 200k fatter.

I thinking of bringing in Hibberd for Hodge/Birchall, luckliy I have til next week to assess.

FWIW my midfield consists of GAJ, Pendles, Watson, Beames + 6 rookies.

My non-rookie selections are McVeigh, Mitchell, Hibberd, GAJ, Pendles, Watson, Beames, Leuy, Sandi, Danger, Dusty, Cyril, Titch. I would be staggered if any of those were considered replaceable after Round 2 with the exception of injury.

Sutcliffe, Webby, Higgo are the other 3. Sutcliffe is so locked ATM it's not even worth typing his name twice on this line.

I just need to make a decision right this minute on whether I need to generate cash anywhere now (options 1 or 2) as generating cash with those options requires 0 trades to do so. You're solution requires the use of a trade. Given bringing Langdon in would require a trade it's a question of use 1 trade or 2 trades. Clearly 1 is the best option :)
