It wouldn’t matter today. We took a beautiful contested mark in the forward fifty and it wasn’t paid...at a time when we were actually on top in the play.

How many times have we fumbled today. Rather than being clean and then having time to dispose cleanly we have fumbled and put pressure on the disposal.

This would be a good point if Adelaide had replaced her or any of the injured players with someone better. They went into the season knowing Scheer and Phillips would be missing for at least part of it and the loss of a player like Randall is unfortunate but within the range of plausible risks. The rest of the squad is very good but also built on the premise that these key positions are filled. Gum is a good pick for ONE of these vacancies, but theres clearly nobody suitable for the role beyond her. A strong forward who can kick a long distance would have made Ponter,Thompson, et al's life a hell of a lot easier Today.
