I actually missed out on getting my AFL Fantasy team in on time because of the site crashing before game time last year.

It's all about these rookies for team announcements now. I feel like it's not going to be as bad as some people are thinking for rookies.

Will unfortunately be on a plane for team announcements and bouncedown of the Rich/Carl game.

Probably a good thing, just have to make sure I'm happy with the first game players and I can deal with the rest when I land - fingers crossed there is no late out/injury for Walsh/Setterfield.

Last year I made a complete tit of my side when Adelaide Lynch got injured and wasn't playing round 1, think I brought in Tom Bell (brainfart, should've just went Christensen) and thought it was a good idea to start Zorko instead of Coniglio as I had cash leftover but didn't like forward options available around 540-550k (needed 590 or so for McLean), that started a revolving pile of shit for a good 6 weeks which saw me blow trades on Rischitelli (can't believe how bad he was, should've averaged 65-75 and look a safe pick at his price, alas he wasn't) and Aaron Young who replaced Bell (another brainfart, should've went down to Christensen). Wasn't settled on my side at all and I paid the price.

So yeah, learning from last year, I need to work a way to keep my settled midpricers and premiums structure the same if at least two of Scrimshaw, Hore and Balta aren't named

Probably would have to drop Butters and take both Atkins and Gibbons to stretch the funds out, Brodie Smith at the absolute worst case scenario would be the next cut down to Moore, but feel that could be detrimental to my squad.

Looks like Collins will have to come back in and move Burgess forward for starters. Petruccelle would be next in line probably if all 3 of Scrimshaw, Balta and Hore aren't named or if Parker isn't named.

Just checking if anyone knows how the lockout round 1 works trading wise... the VS rules state that the reversal of trades will not be possible after the start of the first match of the round (as per usual) but not sure how that affects round 1 with the rolling lockout now in place. Can we still make unlimited changes involving players that haven't played yet, all through the weekend?

Yep, unlimited changes to players who are yet to have played. The same as it was last year after the Thursday night game, but lasts all weekend now.

A couple of points on Preuss, he was injured and essentially dropped for JLT2 but now is named an emergency, and with how much they are paying him, it's hard to believe that they will only play him in the VFL unless Gawn is injured. That would be poor list management, so it's realistic to expect they are going to play Preuss as a chop out ruck and tall forward, which as we've seen has seriously affected the number 1 ruckmen's scoring in the past. And Gawn aint cheap.
